The pier will extend about 330 feet below liigh water mark of ordinary tides, terminat'ng about 70 feet below low water mark of ordinary tides. The deck of the pier will be 10 feet in width, and 16 feet 6 inches above high water level of ordinary spring tides. It is proposed (1) to lengthen the Stage by 10 feet, (2) to widen the fixed portion of the Stage by 1 foot 3 inches, making the total ■width 4 feet 9 inches (3) to raise t'he heigfch of the Pontoon and the Deck of the Stage at its river ward end by about 2 feet; and (4) to sup- port the fixed portion of the Stage on five &ets of piles at intervals of 18 feet along its length the existing piles to be removed. A Valuation of the business as at. December 31st last has been submitted to the Com- pany's Consulting Actuary, R. M. Moore, Esq., who reports a surplus of 2519,076-,after jjroviding for all liabilities. INCOME. The Total Income for the year amounted to £1.620,013 5s 9d, being an increase or L120,910 15s 9d over that of the previous year. This includes £ 253,454 9s Od income in the Ordinary Branch, which is £ 29,045 4s 10d greater than the previous year. The number of Policies issued during the year in this Branch was 12,932, assuring the sum of £1,119,627 10s Od, and producing a New Annual Premium Income of L46,517 3s 4d. PREMIUMS (DECEAIBER, 1906). The new Policies issued diurintr the year number 1,226,401, and the Premium Income on the Policies in force on the Company's books now amounts to £1,637,029 195 2d. CLAIMS. The Company has paid 71,871 Life Claims, IGrants and Matured Endowments draftng the year, amounting with Bonuses, to £ 501,264 8s 8d, wlhich added to the sums previously paid in claims srnoe the establishment of the Company, make a total of L5,226,290 2a 9d. ACCUMULATED FUNDS. The Total Funds, with Capital paid tup, now amount to £ 3,306,142 15s 7d, showing an increase for the year of £ 448,934 8s 4d.
