MESSRS. DALE, FORTY AND CO.. CARDIFF. Some twelve months ago we were pleased to find that Messrs. Dale, Forty and Co., the well known firm of Piano Merchants, having branches all over the West of England, had t^ken fine premises in the High Street and Castle Arcade, Cardiff. We then gave them a call, for the purpose of seeing for ourselves the stock they were holding. Everything- m- forested us a great deal, and' we were shown round by the Company's courteous manager. One of the chief items that particularly inter- ested us was a perfectly new Piano in a solid walnut-wood case with iron frame, full com- pass, check action, and such like modern im- provomjentsi, which they oatalogua at 20 guineas, but for prompt cash we were told they can be purchased for JS16 16. "Truly marvellous," we exclaimed, and indeed we had no idea that so excellent and really perfect an instrument could be turned out for the money. In reply to q. query in this direction the mana- ger explained that only by the very Iartre number that are sold dOl':3 it (become. possiM" to give such value at so low a price. Recently when. in Cardiff we were pissing the establishment again, and found that this enterprising House had acquired the oppcvsi'e premises on tho Arcade. with a frontage to High street. The faecia over the premises had h&pn extended right, across the Arcade, thug joining in one the new premises and those they opened last year. Tht) new portion'is stocked with their spe- cialities in Organs and Harmoniums, and a line collection of Instruments thev are. At one end we saw a very handsome Two-Manual Organ with Pedals, which looked most suit ah o- for a Church or Chapel. We have no hesita- tion in recommending our readers to par a visilt of inspection when next in Cardiff. Thry will he amply rewarded, for they can easily speno. o pleasant half-hour looking round. The actual decorations of the interior cf the show- rooms are artistic, and the new specialities and Patented Models both is Pianos and < )r- gans afford nn interesting and instructive study. (4Ja3)
