WOOL-MARKET. Sales were continued this evening by Mr. H. P. Hughes. It was the opinion of very many buyers that prices generally, and even of the middle class of Port Phillip wools, were firmer than they have been since the opening. Tasmania and Adelaide wools have been decidedly firm, and bring the rates of the last auctions. COAL MARKET, MONDAY. METAL MARKET.—SATURDAY. REMARKS.—Metals remain in a very quiescent state; scarcely any noticeable alteration has taken place since our last week's report; speculators seem entirely to have withdrawn themselves from the market, and the demand for shipment is limited. For home consumption a little better enquiry is mani- fested. COPPER,- English manufactured cannot be bought first-hand below full rates, a few parcels originally purchased by speculators, have been dis posed of at a fractional reduction, but the smelters are generally pretty well off for speculations, and firmly adhere to price. In cake, tile, and ingot a fair amount of business has been done, mostly from weak holders wishing to realise, buyers being readily found where a small concession in price is made. In foreign, some descriptions are slightly better. Burra Burra, i-49 10s.; Chili, JE82 to £ 83. YELLOW METAL—Both sheets and sheathing in good steady demand, and some makers quite full of orders,—prices unchanged. IRON.—Railway bars slow of sale, at quotations; merchant bars in rather more request, but ironmasters still much in want of orders; f5 7s. 6d. in Wales; £ 6 5s., f.o.b. in London. Staffordshire in steady demand for shipment. Makers of first qualities con- tinue to realise list prices. A good deal of incon- venience is experienced on account of the strike of puddkrs causing makers to overstep contract dates of denvery. Swedish bats are arriving rather more freely orders for shipment are very scarce, and prices, consequently, low stock-keepers here, however, have a good opinion of the market, and readily buy up that which is arriving. Stocks in Sweden, on account of the mild and comparatively snowless winter, are not equal to the average, as the difficulty of getting fuel up to the higher works, except by sledges over the snow, is very considerable. In Bombay, the market is still unremunerative, and simply excessive. Scotch pigs have evinced a slightly upward tendency through- out the week, which being further acted on by the reduction in Bank rate, has caused and advance to 51s. l^d., mixed numbers. TIN.-English very quiet, and easily obtainable under fixed rates. In Foreign, a slight reaction has taken place and a sale ot a small quantity of Straits has been effected at £ 122 each there are still ready sellers at fl-23. Romford, April 7th, 1860 '• Dear Sir,—I beg to hand you a testimonial sent to me unsolicited, that it may be published. I know the party who wrot e it, and can vouch for ih authenticity, 1 am yours truly, To Mr. W. Lambert." HARRIS. "6, Albert-terrace, Victoria-road, Romford March 29, 1860. It is with the preatest pleasure I write to state the wonder/ul benefit I have derived by taking Dr. Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills since I have been in Rumford. Previous to my coming down here I was frequently laid up with Inflammation of theLiver, followed by Yellow Jaundice, & also since 1 have been here I have had several very nerious attacks, but could get nothing which seemed to touch the complaint, though I had tried almost every thiug)n the way of medicine, until about 16 months since, when I was very ill, a friend gave me some of Dr. Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills to try. They soon wrought a wonderful change in me, and since taking them I have had excellent health, having had but two day's illness since lhat time. I may also say that I use them as a family medicine, and find them to be the best thing for myself, wife, and family, both as regards economy and efficiency 111 conclusion, I would just say, you are at liberty to make what use of this you like for the benefit of others. c, Jam, sir, yours sincerely, "JOHN PALMER. "Mr. F. Harris, COt mist, Romford." Surprising Relief of Bilions and Nervous Fever. 169, Broad-street, Islington, Birmingham, "January 9, 186J. "To Mr. W. Lambert, Dear Sir -The accompanying testimonial, relative to the wonderfully benefical action of Dr Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills, was voluntarily given me by Mr. J. Clowes and, by his permission, I am induced to forward it to you for further circulation, if you think fit. I may add Mr. Clowes is a well known and highly respectable man, and has earned an independency. 1 am, dear Sir, yours faithfully, "HENRY WHITTLES, Chemist. "Sly wife had been suffering for a long time from Bi li- ous and Nervous Fever, and the Medicines prescribed for her by the medical men whom she has consulted, and other remedies she tried, failed to do her any good. She then tried Dr. Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills; and it is with much gratification and delight I am able to assert that they have done her more good than any medicine she has previously taken, and further, she continues in good health, which I believe is entirely owing to having occa- sional recourse to the Pills. I keep the Pills always by me, c, JOStAH CLOWES, 114, Tennant-street, Islington, Birmingham." Prepared only by W. I Ad., or three times the quantity in one, 2s. 9d., and sold by all respectable medicine vendors throughout the United Kingdom. lMPORTA NT CAUTION.— Be sure to ask for Dr Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills; if you ask for "Scott's Pills" you will get quite a difterent medicine if you ask for liiiious and Liver Pills" you will get a spurious compound, which, if taken will not have the beneficial effects. Take down the particu- lars-" Dr. Scott's Bilious and Liver Pills." Be sure they are in a square green package, with the name of William Lambert, engraved on the red ground governineui stamp. It frequently occurs that druggists impose on their cus- tomers a Scot's llill," in an oval box, which is quite a different medicine, and causes much disappointment, as their medicinal effects are so opposite. Should any difficulty occur in obtaining the Pills, send 16 or 137 postage stamps to the establishment, and they will be forwarded free. AGENTS. CARDIFF—Messrs.
