ROWLAND'S MACASSAR OIL, THIS faithful assistant of nature has, from intrinsic worth alone, during the last half century, acquired the ESPECIAL PATKONAGE ofthe several SOVKKEIGNS and COURTS throughout Europe, and with RANK, FASHION, and DISCERNMENT, supersedes all preparations of pro- fessedly similar import. This Oil is pre-eminently successful in nourishing, improving and beautifying the Human Hair, in all climates, and in all stages of existence. The following is a brief notice of some of its PRINCIPAL VIRTUES, as a mild stimulative, corrective, and preservative agent, for the HAIR. The subject is more fully treated in a small Pamphlet which accompanies each bottle of ROWLAND S MACASSAR OIL, and wherein important hints and advice VAII be found on the Culture oj the Hair in infancy, and on its preservation and beauty through the several stages of huma n life. I-IFA-NCY.-Its balsamic properties nourish the Hair in its embryo state, accelerate its growth, sustain it in maturity, and continue the possession of healthy vigour, silky softness, and luxurious redundancy, to the latest period of human life. Genial and purifying, it dispels all scurf and impurity, and renders the use of the fine comb unnecessary. BALDNEss.-Its re-productive powers are constantly and surprisingly shown in cases of Baldness from what- soever cause arising (proved by numerous testimonials open for inspection at the Proprietors,) in eliciting, unerringly, from the latent stem the active progression of vitality, so that in numerous instances whore other specifics have been tried in vain, ROWLAND'S MACASSAR OIL has superseded the ornaments of art by rc-instating in full plenitude of beauty the permanent graces and utilities of nature. GREY HAIR.—Its nourishing properties arc eminently successful in the PREVENTION of Grey Hair, and in the RESTORATION to its original colour-also proved by testimonials. WHISKERS AND MOUSTACIIIOS.-Its extraordinary fecundity is singularly displayed in creating these orna- ments of manhood, and in the production of strong and beautiful Hair. CURT, AND EMBELLISHMENT.—Its invigorating pro- perties induce a strong tendency to curl: on Artificial Hair it bestows a look of vitality and lightness—sustain- ing the Head Dress in all the beauties of decorative forma- tion, glossy curl, and siiky softness, unimpaired by the heated atmosphere of crowded rooms, or damp weather. SEA.-BATHING AND VIOLENT EXERCISE.—After in- dulging in either of these, so apt in their consequence (by opening the pores) to exhaust the nourishing matter secreted at the roots of the bulbs of the Hair, the Macas- sar Oil will be found most efficacious, both in preserving and m immediately restoring the hair to its usual appear- ance of health with renovated brightness. CLIMATE. This inestimable Oil preserves its virtues unimpaii ed by change of climate, and is alike in use from the liigid to the torrid zone, from the assemblies of St. Petersburg to those of Calcutta and the remote East. CAUTION. Lnprincipled shop-keepers, for the sake of gaining a trifle more profit, vend the most spurious trash under the title of "MACASSAR OIL:" It is therefore imperative on Purchasers to see that the words lW\VLAD'.s MACASSAR OIL arc in two lints on the W rapper of each bottle, and on the inside of "the wrapper nearly 1,500 times, containing 29,028 letters. AGRICULTURE, MARKETS, &E.
AGRICULTURE, MARKETS, &E. (From the Mark Lane Express" of Monday)- The all-engrossing topic continues to be the disease in the potato crop. The fine weather experienced during the past three or four weeks has been favour- able for digging up this root and the greater portion has now been raised the time has therefore, arrived at which something like an estimate of the extent of the failure may be formed. We have been at con- siderable pains to collect information on this important subject; and, from the general tenor of our advices, we fear that the damage is quite as great as it has been represented. The extreme languor which has characterized the trade in Wheat for some weeks past has continued; and, as yet, there are but sliht symptoms of renewed activity. In Bonded Wheat the transactions have. been very unimportant indeed; we have scarcely heard of a single sale since our last. As there is very little chance of entries being made for home consumption at so high a rate as 12s., or even 10s. per qr, the immediate position of the averages does not excite much interest. The sale of Flour has since our last been on rather a limited scale, the bakers beingapparently under an impression that they wiil do well to work up their own stocks. The nominal top price of town-manufactured Flour has, nevertheless, been firmly maintained nor does there seem any prospect of this being reduced. The arrivals of Barley have been moderate; but some quantity of last Monday's supply having on that day remained unsold, sufficient has been exhibited on the market to satisfy the wants of the maltsters and distillers. The trade in Malt has, as usual, been a good deal influenced by the dull state of the Barley market, and the turn has been in favour of the buyer. The market has been well supplied with Oats; from our own coasts 1,271 qrs., from Scotland 781 qrs., from Ireland 12,60S qrs., and from abroad 25,53'2 qrs., have been reported up to this (Saturday) evening; It is not easily ascertained what quantity may be on passage from Ireland; but the principal dealers have for some time held off, under the impression that rather an important supply from thence may be expected. ft s. s. s. The past week's importations of live stock into London have consisted of 269 Beasts and 333 sheep from Rotterdam and Harlingen, together with 26 Oxen from Hamburg, in, for the most part, middling condition. At the outports about 200 Beasts and Sheep have been received from thecontinent, To-day we had on offer 150 foreign Beasts and 130 Sheepi the whole of which found buyers at fully previous quotations.
