DE JONGH'S (Knight of the Order of Leopold of Belgium) LICHT-BROWN COD LIVER OIL, Prescribed by the most eminent Medical Men throughout the world as the safest, speediest, and most effectual remedy for CONSUMPTION, BRONCHITIS, ASTHMA, COUGHS, RHEUMA- TISM, GOUT, GENERAL DEBILITY, DISEASES OF THE SKIN, RICKETS, INFANTILE WASTING, AND ALL SCROFULOUS AFFECTIONS. DR. DE JONGH'S Oil is the most efficacious, the most palatable, and from its rapid curative effects, unquestionably the most economical of all kinds. Its immeasurable thera- peutic superiority over every other variety is established by innumerable spontaneous testimonials from Physicians and Surgeons of European reputation. SELECT MEDICAL OPINIONS:— EDWIN LANKESTER, Esq., M.D., F.R.S., Late Lecturer on the Practice of Physic at St. George's Medical School, Superintendant of the Food Collection at the South Kensington Museum, §c., c. I believe that the purity of this Oil is secured in its preparation by the personal attention of so good a Chemist and intelligent a Physician as Dr. de Jongh, who has also written the best medical treatise on the Oil with which I am acquainted. Hence I should deem the Cod Liver Oil sold under his guarantee to be preferable to any other kind as regards genuineness and medicinal efficacy." W. MURDOCH, Esq., MD., M R CS, Medical Officer of Health, St. Mary, Rotherhithe, %c., c. I entertain a high opinion of Dr. de Jongh's valuable Oil, the results in my practice being much more satisfactory since I have administered it than they were when I used the preparations of Pale Oil usually sold by the druggists. I never could get two samples of them alike, whereas Dr. de Jongh's Oil is always the same in taste, colour, and other pro- perties. My OWN OPINION IS, THAT IT IS THE BEST OIL SOLD." WILLIAM BAYES, Esq., M.D., L.R.C.P., Physician to the Brighton Dispensary, c. Dr. de Jongh's Light-Brown Cod Liver Oil possesses many advantages over the other descriptions of Oil, in its being of one invariable strength, in being more palatable, and in its' greater efficacy. I consider that a teaspoonful .of this Oil is equal in its effects to a tablespoonful of the Pale nOil. A popular Treatise on the £ Diseases of Youth and Manhood, resulting from error, &c with plain directions for self treatment on the modern plan, and the restoration of health and vigour. With chap- ters on marriage, its duties, hindrances, &c., by Professor RALPH THOMSON, irom upwards of twenty-five years' experience in a practice unequalled for extent and import- ance, the Author is enabled to treat, with the utmost cer- tainty of cure, every variety of disease arising from solitary habits, excesses and infection, such as Spermatorrhoea, Stricture, and syphilis, in all their stages-which, owing to neglect and improper treatment, frequently end in disease of the kidneys, stone in the bladder, gravel, gout, rheuma- tism, indigestion, debility, skin diseases, and pain in the back, &e. The neglect of these diseases by medical men generally, and their lutile attempts to cure by the use by those dangerous medicines—mercury, cubebs, sarsaparilla, &c. &c.—have produced the most serious results. Suf- ferers are invited to apply without delay to Dr. T., who guarantees a speedy and perfect cure of every symptom, whether primary or secondary, without the above dangerous medicines, thus preventing the possibility of any after symptoms. This truth has been established in many thousands of cases and, as a further guarantee, he under- takes to cure the most inveterate cases in a short time, without hindrance from business, change of diet, &c. Per- manent relief can only be reasonably expected at the hands of those men who devote the whole of their studies to this neglected class of diseases. Persons at a distance can be successfully treated by correspondence, on their sending a full detail of the symptoms, &c., with the fee of One Pound, by Post-office order, when advice and medicines will be promptly despatched, secure from observation. Address— DR. RALPH THOMSON, 28, Clarence Road, Kentish Town London. Those who have hitherto failed in getting relief are earnestly invited, and no case will be abandoned (until full satisfaction is given. I NERVOUSNESS NO FANCY. The Property is held by the Company under a 42 years lease grauted in 1848 to the former small proprietary at a low Royalty, with an option to purchase the fee-simple. This Lease and Option with the whole of their Quarries, Buildings, Works, and Plant have been purchased from the from the former proprietors by an allotment of 7514 Shares in the present Company taken at jE4 per share paid. Its adoption in the most famous publio hospitals, at home and abroad, and the voluntary testimonies of persons in all quarters of the globe, who have given it a fair trial, have established a world-wide reputation for this purifying and healing Ointment. It penetrates, with marvellous power, to the seat of an internal disease and in all external dis- orders, its application has a rapidity and completeness of effect that resembles magic. ERYSIPELAS AND SCROFULOUS SORES. Are two of the most common and virulent disorders pre- valent in this country. For these the Ointment is an absolute specific. It first eradicates the venom, and then completes the cure, even if of 20 years standing. BAD LEGS, OLD SORES, AND ULCERS. Any of the above class of cases that have pertinaciously refused to yield to any other medicinal application, in- variably succumb to this benign yet powerful Un- guent. ERUPTIONS ON THE SKIN. Arising from the bad state of the blood, are eradicated, and a clear and transparent surface regained by the purifying and restorative action of this Ointment. It will be found to cure any eruptions on the bead or other parts of the body of children. No skin disease, whatever, common to any part of the world, can withstand the mighty power of this wonderful Ointment. PILES AND FISTULAS- Every form of these prevalent and stubborn disorders is eradicated by the use of this emollient; warm fomenta- tions should precede its application. It effects in a short time a certain, thorough, and permanent cure. TIC-DOLOREUX, SCIATICA AND FACE ACHE. Lumbago, sciatica, tic-doloreux (or race ache,) and all other painful affections of the nerves and muscles, are speedily relieved and cured by the application of this marvellously efficacious Ointment, providing it be well rubbed for a considerable time into the parts effected, and, if convenient, twice a day. In some cases it is advisable to immerse the part in a basin of warm water previous to the use of the Ointment, but this should only be done prior to bed time. BRONCHITIS AND ULCERED SORE THROATS. Extract of a Leteer from Mr. James Downing, ef Paris- street, Exeter. 41 To Professor Holloway. Sir,—Your Ointment and Pills have effeccted upon me a perfect cure of a dreadfully diseased throat, arising from cold which ultimately terminated in bronchitis. The medical aid I received was unable to combat with the disease, and I was rapidly sinking under its influence. At this Stage, I had recourse to your medicines, which in a few hours relieved me, and I am happy to inform you that in less than a fortnight I was entirely cured by them. CHARMING FACES FOR LADIES.—A CLEAR SKIN. A word to the &dies.-Ladies anxious to preserve a orilliant complexion, often go to the Perfumer when they should go to the Chemist, and ask for astringent lotions, when they should take alteratives and aperients. The only genuine and really safe and harmless yet thoroughly efficacious cosmetic now sold in London, or elsewhere, is Holloway's Ointment. If this inestimable preparation be applied externally to all pimples, blotches, and dis- colourations, while the blood is being purified, and the depraved humours corrected by the Pills, not only will the face be beautified, but the whole system be cleansed, improved and strepgthened, and the effect will not be temporary and superficial, but thorough and permanent.
