TVTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that JL^I application is intended to be made to Parliament in the next Session by the London and North Western Railway Company (hereinafter called tho Company") for an Act for the following purposes or some of them (that is to say] To empower the Company to lay down maintain and use rails in over across and on the level of the following streets in inf. parish of Saint Leonard Shorediteh in the county of Middlesex at or near the points thereon here- inafter described (that is to say): Worship Street at a point thereon Forty yards or thereabouts east of the junction of that Street with Long Alley: Primrose Street at a point thereon Twenty yards or thereabouts east of the junction of that Street with Long Alley: Skinner Street at a point thereon Eight yards or thereabouts east of the junction of that Street with Long Alley: To empower the Company to make a New Footpath in the parish of Hillmorton in the county of Warwick commencing by a junction on the south-west side of the Company's London and Birmingham Railway with tho Footpath which now passes under that Railway at a point thereon Four hundred and forty yards or there- abouts south-east of Hillmorton Church and terminating by a junction on the south-west side of that Railway with the Footpath which now passes under the same Railway at a point thereon Two hundred and eighty yards or thereabouts south of Hillmorton Church And to provide fcr the stopping up and discontinuance as a public highway of so much of the first-mentioned Foot- path as lies between the boundaries of the Company's property To empower the Company to make a new Footpath m the parish of in the county of Leicester com- mencing by a junction with the footpath from Lilburne to Swiniord which now crosses the Company's Rugby and Stamford Railway on the level at a point on that Railway Eighty yards or thereabouts east of the level crossing of that Railway by the public carriage road from Lilburne to Catthorpe at the Lilburne Station passing thence over the said Railway by means of a foot- bridge and terminating by a junction with the same foot- path at a point thereon One hundred and twenty yards or thereabouts measured along the same in a north-west- wardly and north-eastwardly direction from the said level crossing by that footpath of the said Railway And to provide for- the stopping up and discontinuance as a public highway of so much of the said existing footpath as lies between the commencement and termination of the said intended New Footpath: To empower the Company in the parish of Long Buckby in the county of Northampton to alter and divert the under-mentioned portion of the Bridle Road which crosses the authorized Bletchley Northampton and Rugby Railway of the Company now in course of construction Four hundred yards or thereabouts south-west of the crossing by that Railway of the public carriage road from Daventry to Long Buckby (that is to say): So much thereof as lies between the southern boundary of the Company's property and a point on the said Bridle Road One hundred and thirty yards or thereabouts north-east of the northern boundary of the Company's property And to provide for the stopping up and dis- continuance as a public highway of so much of the said Bridle Road as will be rendered un- necessary by reason of the construction of the said intended alteration and diversion To empower the Company in the parish of Kingscliffe in the county of Northampton to alter and divert the I undermentioned portion of th Bridle Road leading from the Kingscliffe and Stamford Road to Apethorpe (that is to say) So much thereof as lies between a point thereon Two hundred yards or thereabouts south and another point thereon Two hundred and fifty yards or thereabouts north of the level crossing of the said Bridle Road by the Company's Seaton and Wansford Railway And to provide for the stopping up and discontinuance as a public highway of so much of the said Bridle Road as will be rendered unnecessary by reason of the construction of the said intended alteration and diversion: To empower the Company to divert and alter the coarse and direction of the undermentioned portion of the River Nene in the parishes of Saint Peter Northampton Dallington and Saint Sepulchre Northampton all in the county of Northampton or some of them (that is to say) So much of the said River as extends from a point thereon Eighty yards or thereabouts north of West Bridge Northampton to the bridge which carries over the said River the Occupation Road which crosses on the level the Company's Northampton and Market Harborough Branch Railway at a point on thit Railway Seven hundred yards or thereabouts north of West Bridge aforesaid And to provide for the stopping up and discontinu- ance of so much of the River Nene as lies between the ^°And to repeal or amend so much of Section Ten of the London and North Western Railway (Bletchley North- ampton and Rugby) Act 1875 as relates to the crossing bv the Bletcblev Northampton and Rugby Railway ot the portion of the River Nene so proposed to be stopped UPAnd to empower the Company to take down and re- move the Viaduct in the said parish of Saint Peter s north of the said West Bridge by which the said North- ampton and Market Harborough Branch Railway under the provisions of the London and North Western Railway (Northampton and Market Harborough &c. Branches) Act 1853 is carried over the River Nene and to substitute a solid embankment in lieu thereof And to repeal so much of the said Act of 1S53 as re- lates to the said Viaduct To empower the Company to make a New Footpath in the township and parish of Sedgley in the County of Stafford commencing trom and out of the public highway leading from Bilston to Sedgley at a noint thereon Thirty yards or thereabouts west of the Ten Score Level Crossing OR the Company's Stour Valley Railway thence passing under that Railway at the bridge which carries that Railway over the Birmingham Canal at Fifty-five yards or thereabouts north of the said level crossing and terminating by a junction with the said highway at a point thereon Seventy yards or thereabouts east of the said level crossing And to provide for the stopping up and discontinuance as a public highway of so much of the said public highway as lies between the boundaries of the Company's property 3 To empower the Company to make a New Road in the township and parish of Wolverhampton in the county of Stafford commencing by a junction with Railway Street at a point in that street Thirty-five yards or thereabouts at the junction therewith of New Street and ter- minatine by a junction with the Approach Road to the Wolverhampton Passenger Station of the Company at the bridge carrying that Approach Road over the Bir- mingham Canal And to provide for the stopping up and discontinuance and the extingmshment of all rigMsof •wav over or in respect of so much of the saw Approach Bold as lies between the termination of the said intended New Road and the Five Ways Wolverhampton To empower the company to make a New roadinthe township and parish of Aldridge m the county ofStafford commencing at a point on the public carnage road lading from Walsall Wood Aldridge One abouts north of the crossing of that Road by the Com- pany's Leigh's Wood Railway now in coarse of constrnc- •on and terminating at a another point on the same Road 0~ hundred and thirty yards or thereabouts south of the said .0SSing And to alter the authorized Levels or so much tbe said Railway as extends from a point iwo Iraidvsd '1d ixty yards or of the said Road as lies between the commencement and termination of the said intended New Road And to empower the Company to appropriate to the purposes of their Undertaking so much of the said portion of Road so to be stopped up as lies within the boundaries of their property To empower the Company to make a New Footpath in the townships of Cold Norton and Chebsey in the paaish of Chebsey in the county of Stafford commencing by a junction with the Footpath which now crosses the Company's Grand Junction Railway on the level Five hundred and fifty yards or thereabouts west of the bridge which carries the public carriage road from Eccleshall to Stone over that Railway at a point on that footpath immediately south of the said level crossing and termina- ting bv a junction with the said public carriage road im- mediately south of the said bridge And to provide for the stopping up and discontinuance as a public highway of so much of the said existing footpath as lies between the boundaries of the Company's property To empower the Company to make a New Street in the township and parish of Stockport in the county of Chester commencing by a junction with James Street at a point thereon Sixty-five yards or thereabouts west of the junction of that Street with Shaw Heath and termi- nating by a junction with Greek Street at a point thereon Forty-two yards or thereabouts west of the junction of that Street with Shaw Heath To empower the Company in the townships and parishes of Monks-Coppenhall Coppenhall Crewe and Barthomley in the county of Chester to execute the Works and .exercise the Powers following (that is to say): (1) To make a New Street commencing by a junc- tion with Pedley Street Crewe at its eastern end and terminating by a junction with Nant- wich Road at a point thereon Twenty yards or thereabouts east of the Royal Hote}: (2) To make a New Footpath commencing at the intended commencement of the New Street above described and terminating by a junction with Station Street Crewe at a point thereon Forty yards or thereabouts east of the junction of that Street with Railway Street (3) To stop up and discontinue as public highways so much of Station Street as lies east of the junction therewith of the intended New Foot- path and the whole of the Footpath leading from Station Street along the western boundary of the Company's property to the Nantwich Road and to appropriate to the purposes of the Company's Undertaking the portion of street and the footpath so to be stopped up (4) To acquire by compulsion or agreement and to hold certain lands houses and buildings lying between the Nantwich Road and Station Street and on the west side of and adjoining the Company's property To empower the Company to make a INew Uootpath in the township of Monks Coppenhall in the parish of Coppenhall in the county of Chester commencing in Delamere Street at the west end thereof and terminating in Gatefield Street at the south end thereof And to provide for the stopping up and discontinuance as a public highway of the footpath which passes from Delamero Street near the wesfe end thereof to the road or street called Wellington Square at the west end thereof To empower the Company to carry under their Merthyr Tredegar and Abergavenny Railway by means of a Subway the Footpath in the parish of Abergavenny in the county of Monmouth which now crosses that Railway on the level at a point thereon One hundred and fifty yards or thereabouts north-east of the Bridge (known as Pen-y-Pound Bridge) which carries the said Railway over the public carriage road from the Sugar- loaf to Abergavenny And to stop up and discontinue as a public highway so much of the said Footpath as lies between the boundaries of the Company's property To empower the Company to carry over their Merthyr Tredegar and Abergavenny Railway by means of a Foot- bridge the Footpath in the parish of Abergavenny in the county of Monmouth which now crosses that Rail- way on the level at a point thereon Three hundred and thirty yards or thereabouts west of the Bridge which carries the Turnpike Road from Hereford to Abergavenny over that Railway And to stop up and discontinue as a public highway so mucti of the said Footpath as lies between the boundaries of the Com- pany's property: To empower the Company to make a New Road in the parish of Festiniog in the county of Merioneth com- mencing from and out of the public carriage road leading from Blaenau Festiniog to Maentwrog at a point thereon immediately south of the Glan-y-pwll level crossing on the Dyffws Branch of the Festiniog Railway and terminating by a junction with the public carriage road leading from the first-mentioned public carriage road to the Market Hall at Blaenau Festiniog at a point thereon Seventy-five yards or thereabouts west of the said Market Hall And to provide for the stopping up and discontinuance as a public highway of so much of the last-mentioned public carriage road as lies to the west of the termination of the proposed New Road And to empower the Company to appropriate to the purposes of their Undertaking the site of the portion of Road so proposed to be stopped up: To empower the Company in the parish of Saint Thomas in the county of the city of Dublin to execute the works and exercise the powers following (that is to say): (1) To make a New Street commencing by a junc- tion with Upper Sheriff Street Dublin at a point thereon One hundred yards or thereabouts east of the junction of that Street with Wap- ping Street and terminating by a junction with North Wall at a point thereon One hundred yards or thereabouts east of the junction of that Street with Wapping Street: (2) To acquire by compulsion or agreement and to hold the lands houses and buildings aext here- inafter described or referred to (that is to say)- Certain lands houses and buildings lying between Upper Sheriff Street and North Wall and east of and adjoining Wapping Street And to stop up use and appropriate the site of Wapping Street and the site of so much of Mayor Street as extends for the distance of One hundred yards or thereabouts from Wapping Street: And certain other lands lying on the east of and Adjoining the Railway of the Great Northern Railway Company (Ireland) at North Wall and One hundred and sixty yards or there- abouts north of the bridge carrying Upper Sheriff Street over that Railway To empower the Company to acquire by compulsion or agreement and to hold ia addition to the lands houses and buildings before mentioned in that behalf other lands houses and buildings for the purposes of the before-mentioned intended New Roads and other Works and also for the purpose of extending the station siding and other accommodation of the Company and for other purposes connected with their Undertaking the lands houses and buildings hereinafter described or referred to (that is to say): Certain lands in the parish of West Ham in the county of Essex lying on the east side of and adjoining the North Woolwich Branch of the Great Eastern Railway and Five hiindred yards or thereabouts north of the Barking Road Certain lands in the parish of Saint Mary Stratford- le-Bow in the coufity of Middlesex lying on the east side of and adjoining the North Lon- don Railway and between the Old Ford Station on that Railway and Wick Lane And certain other lands in the same parish lying on the east side of and adjoining the North London Railway and on the south east side of and adjoining Sir George Duckett's Canal; With power to the Company to extend for a distance of Fifty-five yards or thereabouts on the south-east side thereof the Bridge which carries the North London Railway over Wick Lane: Certain land and property in the parish of Saint Martin-in-the-Fields in the county of Middle- sex being the premises numbered 70 in Saint Martin's Lane: Certain lands houses and buildings in the parishes of Holy Trinity Minories and Saint Mary Whitechapel both in the county of Middlesex lying on the east side of and adjoining the Company's Haydon Square Branch Railway and Goods Station and between that Railway and Mansell Street and North of and adjoining Mansell Passage With power to the Company to stop up and appropriate to the purposes of their Undertaking the site of Haydon Square (including the portion under the Railway) and all or any ef the other roads streets footpaths courts alleys or passages lying within the limits of the lands houses and buildings to be so acquired: Certain lands in the parishes of Willesden and Twy- ford in the county of Middlesex lying on the north side of and adjoining. the Company's London and Birmingham Railway and Two hundred and thirty-five yards or thereabouts east of the Brent Viaduct Certain lands in the parish of Padbury in the county of Buckingham lying on the east side of and adjoining the Company's Bletchley and Buckingham Railway and on the north side of and near to the road fiom Steeple- Claydon to Padbury Certain lands in the parish of Seaton in the county of Rutland lying on the north-west side of and adjoining the Company's Rugby and Stamford Railway at the Seaton Station on that Rail- way Certain lands in the parish of Sibson-cum-Stibbing- ton in the county of Huntingdon lying on the north-west side of and adjoining the Company's Northampton and Peterborough Railway at the | Wansford Station on that Railway Certain lands houses and buildings in the parish of Aston-juxta-Birrninghani in the county of Warwick lying all the north-east side of and ad- M joining the Grand Junction Railway of the Company at the Aston Station on that Rail- way: Certain other lands in the same parish and county lying on the east and west sides of and adjoin- ing Mount-street Birmingham at the junction of that street with Needham-street: Certain lands houses and buildings m the parish of Saint Margaret Leicester in the county of Leicester being the premises numbered Twenty in Gallowtree Gate in the town of Leicester Certain lands houses and buildings in the townships of Bilston and Wolverhampton in the parish of Wolverhampton in the county of Stafford lying on the east side of and adjoining the Company's Stour Valley Railway and on the north side of and adjoining the Ettingshall Road Station on that Railway Certain lands in the township and parish of West Bromwich in the county of Stafford lying on both sides of and adjoining the Company's Grand Junction Railway at the east side of and adjoining the Bescot Junction Station on that Railway: Certain lands houses and buildings in the townships of Cheadle-Bulkeley and Cheadle-Moseley or one of them in the parish of Cheadle in the county of Chester lying on the east side of and adjoining the Company's Stockport and Macclesfield Railway at the junction of that Railway with the Company's Crewe and Man- chester Railway Certain lands in the township of Disley otherwise Disley-Stanley in the parish of Stockport in the county of Chester lying on the north side of and adjoining the Company's Branch Railway to Buxton at the New Mills Station on that Railway Certain lands houses and buildings in the township and parish of Stockport in the county of Chester lying on the north-east side of and ad- joining the road called Shaw Heath and on the north-west side of the footpath leading from that road to the Company's Stockport Station And certain other lands in the same town- ship and parish lying on the west side of and adjoining Wellington Road opposite to the junction with that road of Wellington Street: Certain lands houses and buildings in the township of Crewe in the parish of Barthomley known as the Crewe Arms Hotel Certain lands in the township of Church-Coppenhall in the parish of Coppenhall the township and parish of Warmingham and the township of Minshull Vernon in the parish of Middlewich all in the county of Chester lying on the east and west sides of the Company's Grand Junction Railway and extending from the bridge which carries the public road from Church-Coppenhall to Cross Green over the said Railway to a point One thousand yards or thereabouts north of the level crossing by the said Railway of the public road from Moss Side to Coppenhall Moss Certain lands houses and buildings in the township and parish of Preston in the county of Lancaster lying at the junction of Lodge Street East and Gradwell Street Preston; And certain other lands houses and buildings in the same township and parish lying on the south side of and adjoining the Company's Maudlands Goods Station and between their Lancaster and Carlisle Railway and Leighton Street And certain other lands houses and buildings in the same township and parish lying of Bartcn-upon- Irwell in the parish of Eccles in the county of Lancaster lying on the north side of and adjoining the Company's Liverpool and Man- chester Railway and Two hundred and forty yards or thereabouts west of the Eccles Station on that Railway: Certain lands houses and buildings in the township of West Derby in the parish of Walton-on- the-Hill and in the township of Wavertree in the parish of Childwall all in the county of Lancaster lying on the south side of and adjoining Edge Lane and east of and adjoining Wavertree Park Certain lands houses and buildings in the said township of West Derby lying on the east side of and adjoining the Botanic Road and north of and adjoining Leigh Road including the site of the last-mentioned Road Certain lands in the township of Saddleworth in the parish of Rochdale in the West Riding of the county of York lying on the north side of and adjoining the Company's Oldham Branch Railway at the Lees Station on that Railway: Certain lands in Branch Rail- way at the Birstal Station thereon Certain lands houses and buildings in the township of Slaithwaite in the parish of Huddersfield in the West Riding of the county of York lying on both sides of and adjoining the Company's Huddersfield and Manchester Railway at the Slaithwaite Station on that Railway: And certain other lands in the same township and parish lying on the north-west side of and adjoining the same Railway at the Slaithwaite Viaduct thereon And certain other lands in the townships of Slaithwaite and Golcar in the same parish lying on the south-east side of and adjoining the same Railway at" the Crimble Viaduct there- on: Certain lands in the township and parish of Thorn- ton-in-Lonsdale in the West Riding of the county of York lying on the north-east side of and adjoining the Company's Ingleton Branch Railway and One hundred and fifty yards or thereabouts south-east of the bridge carrying that Railway over the public carriage road lead- ing from Burton-in-Lonsdale to Far Westhouse and Higher Westhouse: Certain lands houses and buildings in the townships of Kendal and Natland in the parish of Kendal otherwise Kirkby-Kendal in the county of Westmoreland lying on both sides of and adjoining the Company's Lancaster and Car- lisle Railway at the Oxenholme Station on that Railway: And certain other lands in the said town- ship of Natland lying oa the west side of and adjoining the said Railway Four hundred yards or thereabouts south of the said Station Certain lands houses and buildings in the parish of Swansea in the county of Glamorgan lying on the south side of and adjoining the Company's property and between Bond Street d the South Dock: Certain lands houses and buildings in the parish of Festiniog in the county of Merioneth lying on the north side of and near to the Dyffws Branch of the Festiniog Railway and Twenty- five yards or thereabouts west of the Market Hall at Blaenau Festiniog: Certain lands houses and buildings in the parish of Eglwys-Rhosotherwise Llan-Rhosin the county of Carnarvon lying on the soath-west side of and adjoining the Saint George's Harbour Railway of the Company and extending for a distance of Nine hundred yards or thereabouts South east and Four hundred and fifty yards north-west of t he Deganwy Station on that Railway: Certain lands houses and buildings in the parish of Bangor in the county of Carnarvon lying en the south side of and adjoining the Company's Chester and Holyhead Railway at the Bangor Station on that Railway: With power to the Company to stop up and appropriate to the purposes of their Undertaking all or any of the roads streets or highways lying within the limits of the lastly-described lands houses and buildings: Certain lands in the parish of Abergele in the county of Denbigh lying on the north side of and ad- joining the Company's Chester and Holyhead Railway at the Abergele Station thereon: To empower the Company the Midland. Railway Company and the North London Railway Company as Lessees of the Undertakinf.7, of the North and Soath Western Junction Railway Company or their Joint Com- mittee to acquire by compulsion or agreement and to hold for purposes connected with the North and South Western Junction Railway the lands next bereicafter described or referred to (that is to s&y): > Certain lands in the parish of Acton in the county of Middlesex lying on She west side of and ad- joining the North and South Western Junction Railway between the Acton Station on that Railway and the Birkbeck Road; And to empower the said Lessees to make and carry into effect agreements with respect to the acquisition use and appropriation of those lands and to apply their respective funds to those purposes To empower the Company and the Great Western Railway Company jointly or either of them with the consent of the other to acquire by compulsion or agree- ment and to hold the lands houses and buildings and to execute the Works hereinafter described or referred to (that is to say) (1) To acquire and hold certain lands houses and buildings in the township and extra-parochial chapelry of Birkenhead in the county of Chester lying on the north side of and adjoin- ing Bridge Street and on the east side of and adjoining Freeman Street (2) To acquire and hold certain lands partly in the township of Tranmere in the parish of Bebing- ton and partly ia the township and extra- parochial chapelry of Birkenhead all in the county of Chester lying on the south side of and adjoining the Birkenhead Railway and on the east side of and adjoining the Birkenbead and Chester Road where that Road passes under the said Railway (3) To extend in a southerly direction for a distance of Eight yards or thereabouts the bridge which now carries the said Railway over the said Birkenhead and Chester Road; (4) To make a New Footpath in the township of Childer-Thornton in the parish of Eastham in the county of Chester commencing by a junction with the public highway which crosses by a bridge over the Hooton and Helsby Branch Railway Nine hundred and fifty yards or thereabouts south of the Hooton Station at a point on that public highway immediately east of the said bridge and terminating by a junc- tion with the public Footpath which crosses the said Branch Railway on the level Three hundred and fifty yards or thereabouts north of the said bridge at a point on that Footpath Sixty yards or thereabouts east of that level crossing With power to the Two Companies to stop up and discontinue as public highways the portions of the existing Footpaths in the said township and parish and in the township of Willaston in the parish of Neston in the same county lying within the boundaries of their property which now cross the under- mentioned Railways on the level at the points hereinafter described (that is to say): On the Birkenhead Railway and the Hooton and Helsby Branch Railway at or near the junction of those Two Railways; On the said Two Railways at One hundred and forty yards or thereabouts south of the said junction; On the Hooton and Parkgate Branch-Rail- way at Five hundred and fifty yards or thereabouts south of its junction with the Birkenhead Railway; On the last-mentioned Branch Railway at Four hundred yards or thereabouts west r f the last-mentioned level crossing and Nine hundred and fifty yards or thereabouts south-west of the last-mentioned junction And to empower the said two Companies to make and carry into effect agreements with respect to the matters aforesaid: To empower the Great Northern and London and North Western Joint Committee to execute the Works i and exercise the Powers following (that is to say) (1) To make a New Footpath in the Parish of Bingham in the county of Nottingham com- mencing by a junction with the public carriage road called the Fosse Way at the north side of the bridge carrying the Bingham Branch Rail- way now in conrse of construction over that road and terminating by a junction with the public footpath leading from the said public carriage road to Bingham at a point on that footpath Seventy yards or thereabouts east of the said bridge And to provide for the stopping up and discontinuance as a public highway of so much of the said footpath as lies between the termination of the intended New Footpath and the said public carriage road (2) To make a New Footpath in the same parish and county commencing by a junction with the public carriage road leading from Bingham to Langar at a point on that road immediately north of the bridge carrying that road over the said Branch Railway, and terminating by a junction with the public footpath leading from Bingham to the said public carriage road at a point on that footpath Two hundred and ten yards or thereabouts north-east of the point where that footpath joins the said public carriage road And to provide for the stopping up and discontinuance of so much of the said public footpath as lies between the boundaries of the property of the said Joint Committee (3) To provide for the stopping up and discon- tinuance as a public highway of the under- mentioned portion of the footpath in the same parish and county which is crossed on the lerel by the said Branch Railway Three hundred and twenty yards or thereabouts south-east of the public road bridge last above describe (that is to say) so much of that footpath as lies between the boundaries of the property of the said Joint Committee; (4) To divert the public Footpath in the same parish and county which is crossed on the level by the said Branch Railway Four hundred and fifty yards or thereabouts south-east of the said public road bridge by carrying the same along the south-west side of and contiguous to the said Branch Railway for a distance of Thirty yards or thereabouts in a north-westerly direc- tion and thence by means of a footbridge across the said Branch Railway to and into the said footpath at the north-east boundary of the said Branch Railway And to provide for the stopping up and discontinuance of so much of the said footpath as lies between the boundaries of the property of the said Joint Committee (5) To divert the public Footpath in the same parish and county which is crossed on the level by the said Branch Railway Seven hundred yards or thereabouts south-east of the said public road bridge from a point on the said footpath Twenty yards or thereabouts south of south-west boundary of the said Bran:h Rail- I way to a point Ten yards or thereabouts north of the north-east boundary of the said Branch Railway and to carry the footpath over the Railway by means of a bridge And to pro- vide for the stopping up and discontinuance of so much of the said foothpath as lies be- tween the boundaries of the property of the said Joint Committee; (6) To make a New Road in the parish of Hallaton County of Leicester commencing from and out of the public carriage road which leads from Cranhoe through Slawston to the Hallaton and Medbourne Road at the junction of those two roads and passing in an easterly direction under the Railway from Tilton to Market Har- borough now in course of construction to and into and terminating by a junction with the deviation of the said Hallaton and Medbourne Road authorized by the Great Northern and London and North Western Railway Com- panies Joint Powers and New Lines Act 1874 and to alter the levels of so much of the said road from Cranboe as extends for a distance of Seventy yards or thereabouts in a westerly direction from the commencement of tha said intended New Road; (7) To empower the said Joint Committee to apply their funds to the purposes aforesaid or any of them: To make further provision for the construction by the Rhyl Improvement Commissioners of the Bridge authorized by the Rhyl Improvement Act 1872 for the purpose of carrying over the Chester and Holyhead Railway of the Company the Road by that Act authorized and therein described as commencing at or near the junction of the Brighton Road with the Morley Road in the township of Rhyl and to join the Dyserth Road at a point near a farm called Merllyn in the same township and which Bridge will be situate at or near the south- eastern corner of the Cemetery in the township of Rhyl in the parish of Rhuddlan in the county of Flint And to revive or renew the powers by that Act conferred upon the Commissioners for the construction of the said Bridge And to empower the Company to contribute towards the cost of the said Bridge And to empower the Company to take down and remove the present Footbridge over the said Railway at the point aforesaid and to re-erect the same for the purpose of carrying over the said Railway the Foot- path which now crosses that Railway on the level at a point theron Five hundred and fifty yards or thereabouts eastward of the present site of the said Footbridge And to provide for the stopping up and discontinuance as a public highway of so much of the said Footpath as liea within the boundaries of the Company's property: To empower the Company and the Company and the Great Western Railway Company or one of them and the said Joint Committee (as the case may be) to purchase so much of any property as they may, require for the pur- poses of the intended Act to be executed by them res- pectively without being subject to the liability imposed by the Ninety-sec»nd Section of the Lands Clauses Con- solidation Act 1845 To extinguish or provide for the extinguishment of all rights of way over the public carriage and other roads footpaths streets ways courts alleys and passages or por- tions thereof which are proposed to be stopped up and discontinued or diverted and over any of the lands to be acquired under the provisions of the intended Act To vary and extinguish all other existing rights and privileges connected with any lands houses or buildings proposed to be purchased acquired or approprioted for the rposcs of the intended Act or which would in any j manner impede or interfere with sach purposes or an] oj them and to confer other rights aai privileges To authorize the crossing stopping up altering or diverting whether temporarily or permanently of all public carriage and other roads highways railways tramways canals rivers and streams- within or adjoining to the beforementioned parifhes townships and extra- parochial and other places which it may be necessary to cross stop up alter or divert in executing the several purposes of the intended Act: To make provision for the repair of all or any of the New Roads Footpaths or Highways to be constructed under the authority of the intended Act by the same persons and by the same means as other roads footpaths or highways in the parishes townships er places within which the intended New Roads Footpaths of Highways respectively will be situate are for the time being legally repairable: To alter and modify or provide for the alteration and modification of certain of the accommodation works prescribed in or provided for by Sec: ion Five of the Great Northern and London and North Western Railway Companies (Joint Powers and New Lines) Act 1874 and to alter and amend that Act accordingly To extend the period limited by the London and North Western Railway fNew Lines &c.) Act .1873 for the completion of the Seaton and Wa.nsford Railway described in and authorized by that Act and to alter and amend that Act accordingly To extend the period limited by the Whitehaven Cleator and Egremont Railway Act 1875for the purchase of lands and buildings by that Act authorized to be acquired or some of them and also to extend the period by the same Act limited for the completion of the Rail- ways by that Act authorized to be constructed and to alter and amend that Act accordingly: To extend the period limited by the London and North Western Railway (Wales &c.) Act 1874 for the completion of the Merthyr Extension Railway (No. 1) described in and authorised by that Act and (if necessary) to explain and amend Section Fifty-six of the London and North Western Railway (New Lines and Additional Powers) Act 1875 and the agreement between the Company and the Brecon and Merthyr Tydfil Junction Railway Company scheduled to and confirmed by that Act in accordance with such ex- tension To empower the Company to abandon and relinquish the construction of the Merthyr Extension Railway (No. 2) described in and authorised by the said London and North Western Railway (Wales &c.) Act 1874: To alter and amend the two last-mentioned Acts in respect of the matters aforesaid To empower the Company to abandon and relinquish the construction of the Dewsbury Junction Railway described in and authorised by the London and North Western Railway (New Lines &c.) Act 1S73 and to alter and amend that Act accordingly: To extend the time for the sale of all or any lands acquired by the Company which are not or eventuallv may not be required for the purposes of their undertaking and to confer further powers on the Company with relation thereto and to empower the Company to grant building leases for terms of years of any lands which may have been heretofore or may from time to time hereafter be used or occupied for the purposes cf their Railway or for any purpose incidental to the traffic or business thereof and which may at any time or from time to ime ceased to be so used and any other lands which may have been or may be hereafter acquired by the (Company and which ma.Y,be found not to be required for the purposes of their Undertaking and to sell and dispose of all or any of such lands within a period or periods to be limited by the intended Act and so far as may be necessary to alter and amend the provisions of the Lands Clauses Consolidation Act 1845 with respect to the sale of superfluous lands: To repeal Section 20 of the St. George's Harbour Act 1853 (" Company to erect and maintain a Station at a certain point shewn on plan and to maintain carriage way") To authorize the granting wf licenses for the sale of Wine spirits beer and cider at hotels refreshments rooms and other like premises managed and conducted by the Company to a person or persons to be nominated by the Company not being the real resident holder and occupier of the hotel refreshment room or other premises in respect of which such licenses are granted To empower the Company from time to time to supply Water in bulk from Wolverton not required for their own purposes to any Local Board or other local authority and to any Company or person And also to empower the Company and any Local Board or other local authority and any such Company or person to enter into contracts and agreements with reference to the purposes aforesaid or any of them To ratify and confirm certain acts and proceedings of the Trustees of Hulme's (Bolton) Lectureship Charity Estate (hereinafter called the Trustees) done and taken by them in pursuance of agreements made between them and the Company and consequent upon or in respect of certain powers conferred by Parliament upon the Com- pany of taking and using lands of the Trustees and to ratify or confirm any deed or deeds entered into between the Company and the Trustees and to empower the Trustees to maintain continue and complete upon lands belonging to them certain railway and other works begun by them in pursuance of those agreements and deeds and if needful to confer upon the Trusiees further powers in repect of the matters aforesaid and to confirm and give effect to any agreements or deeds made or to be made between the Company the Trustees and their lessees or any of them and to authorize the making of further agreements in respect of the matters aforesaid To empower the Company to contribute or subscribe money towards and to take and hold shares or stock in the Undertaking of the Callander and Oban Railway Company and to empower them to vote in respect of any ordinary or preference shares or stock held by them and so far as may be necessary for that purpose to alter and amend Section fJ ef the Callander and Oban Railwav Act 1874.: To transfer to and vest in the Company the Under- taking of the Cromford and High Peak Railway Com- pany or provide for such transfer and vesting upon such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon or as may be provided for prescribed by the intended Act and to dissolve or provide for the dissolution of the Cromford and High Peak Railway Company and to provide for the exercise and fulfilment by the Company in their own name and under their own seal and in the names and under the hands of their directors officers and servants of all the rights powers privileges liabilities and obliga- tions of the Cromford and High Peak Railway Company whether with reference to the acquision of lands the con- struction and maintenance of works the fixing demanding and recovering of toils rates and charges the granting or issuing of mortgages bonds or debenture stock or other- wise and for the substitution of shares or stock of the Company for the shares or stock in the capital of the Cromford and High Peak Railway Company whether before or after the same shall have been paid up in full and to confirm or give effect to any agreement that may have been or may bo made between the two Companies with respect to the matters aforesaid or any of them To empower the Great Northern Railway Com- pany (Ireland) to sell and transfer to the Company upon such terms and conditions as have been or may be agreed upon or as may be provided for or pre- scribed by the intended Act a portion or portions of the Railway and Works authorized by the Dublin and Drogheda Railway (North Wall Extension) Act 18G.9 together with certain lands houses and buildings con- nected with that Railway and all the estate title rights powers and privileges (whether with respect to the demanding and recovering of tolls rates and charges or otherewise) liabilities and obligations of the Great Northern Railway Company (Ireland) so iar as the same extend or apply to or affect or may be exercised in respect of the portion or portions of Rsilway and the lands houses and buildings so sold and transferred And to empower the Company to accept such sale and transfer and to hold enioyaed exercise the premises so transferred as part of their Undertaking And to con- firm or give effect to any agreement which may have been or may be made between the two Companies with respect to all or any of the matters aforesaid To empower the Company and the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway Company to make and carry into effect agreements with respect to the 'ownership use appropriation occupation alteration ex- tension enlargement rebuilding and arrangement bv and between them of the Station of the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway Company at Staley- bridge and the Works aad conveniences of every description connected therewith and with respect to the ownership use and appropriation of any lands acquired by either of the Two Companies which may be made available for any of the aforesaid purposes To transfer to and vest in the Dundalk Newry and Greenore Railway Company (hereinafter called the Dun- dalk Company) the power by the Greencastle and Kil- keel Railway and Pier Act 1876 conferred upon the Company thereby incorporated (hereinafter called the Greencastle Company) of making and maintaining the Pier or Wharf in the townland of Greencastle and shore of Carlingford Lough in that Act more particularly des- cribed together with all the rights powers privileges liabilities and obligations of the Greencastle Company whether with reference to the "acquisitioa of htads the construction and maintenance'of Works the demanding and recovering of tolls rates and charges or otherwise so far as the same relate or are applicable to the said Pier or WJw¡.rf as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes as if the powers contained in the said Act with reference to the said Pier or Wharf had been thereby conferred upon the Dundalk Company and to confer upon that Company such further and other powers as may be necessary for the construction maintenance and use of the said Pier or Wharf And so far as may be necessarv to reduce the amount of money which the Greencastle Company may raise under the authority and for the pur- poses of the said Act To empower the Dundalk Company to apply to all or any of the above-mentioned purposes any Capital or Funds belonging to them To empower the Company in respect of any mortgage or bond the payment of either the principal or interes secured by which is guaranteed by them when and as the principal so guaranteed is from time tc time paid off by them to reborrow on mortgage or to grant Debenture Stock of the Company to an amount net exceeding the principal cuoney so pail off: I To empower the Company for all or any of the pur- poses of the intended Act and of any other Act or Acts of the next Session and for the purposes of the Birken- head Railway the Shrewsbury and Hereford Railway other Undertakings belonging to them and the Great Western Railway Company jointly and for other the general purposes of the Company to increase their j capital and to raise further sums of money by the creat- ion and issue of new shares or stock with or without a guaranteed or preference dividend or other rights or privileges attached thereto and by the creation and issue II of debenture stock and by borrowing or by any cf such means and also to apply to all or any of such purposes any capital or funds belonging to the Comply- To empower the Great Western Railwav Company to apply to such cf the purposes of the intended Act as may.be executed by them such portion of their corporate funds as they shall think expedient and for those pur- poses and for the purposes of the Birkenhead Railwav the the Shrewsbury and Hereford Railway and other TJrder- takings belonging to them and the Company jointly to raise additional capital by the creation of shares or stock with or without a preference or priority in payment
