CHRISTMAS SHOPPING. ROUND THE SHOPS AT LLANRWST. 'As is usually the case at this period of the year there is great competition between Llan- arwst tradesmen as to the finest window dis- play. Some of the windows are positively .beautiful in their ectB, and attract large prowdis of admirers all hours of the day. t At London House there is exhibited a realistic Arctic scene in which is depicted a i .brown faced gentleman clad in skins holding up the legend "The North Pole found at last." On the right is a company of Llan- rwst Scouta "seeing fair play this time," while round thein, resting on the ice ham- mocks are Teddy Bears, deterred from attack- ing the Scouts by the magic of the presence of a mighty Esquimaux. The scene is sur- rounded by articles of wool, etcv which point Itheir own moral. Mr W. Hughes, of the Britannic Stores, shows a sporting scene, ruralised by the aid of tree trunks and moss and a miniature lake. On one side stands a gamekeeper resting on his gun, and contemplating with a satis- factory smile, a bag full of game. A fishing rod, and golf clubs indicate that the boots displayed in the windows are adapted for sporting generally. In one of Mr J. Smith Williams' windows (is depicted a fight between Joihnson and Burns, accompanied by their seconds, while on the other side is a big dolls' house, from .■Which emerges a May Queen, accompanied her maids to take her place in the wait- ing carriage. Around them hang ladies' fancy silk Maltese handkerchiefs, dolls richly garbed, Teddy bears, etc. In another. .window specimens of gent's underwear. At ^Windsor House are shown samples of ladies' hate, while the other window is artistically decorated with children's clothing and baby linen. f The windows a.t Regent House are, as usual, Tery tastefully dressed. In the first window gentlemen's caps, ties, gloves, collars, and silk handkerchiefs are arranged effectively; in the second ladies' gloves of all varieties, ,T?ihile the third is set apart for fancy laces, handkerchiefs, blouses, furs, etc., and the fourth to fancy lace, cushions, etc. Mr R. Berry, 15, Denbigh-street, exhibits A fine selection of fancy watches, leather goods, plated goods, and articles suitable for Christmas presents. — Mr W. O. Williams, Preecott House, has a fine show of fruit, grapes, tomatoes, oranges, and apples; G. (Harrison a variety of toys; Miss Roberts, Grosv«mor Hbuge, fancy cakes, chocolate and eweefte in fancy boxes with pretty effect. Mr E. Lloyd Jones, Liverpool House, exhibits a castle with a fish-shaped flying machine Covering over the ga-te-wayt bearing the imagic words "Rock bottom prices." Along- side is shown a fine lot of Christmas fruit. t Mr G- Owen, and Sons, Gweeniwioh House, have an exceptional display of silver articles, jewel- iler, leather goods, sporting implements, y etc. Mr J. JenJnna (Witling-street) displays warm evenintg' and dress boots in an artificial snow storm. Mr David Jones, Berlin House, has a naoe lot of jewelleTy, barometers, eIOO. The Pioneer Boot Stares and Shop y Faner Goch afeo show a fine selection of boots suitable for the season. Mr Lloyd Jones, Birmimgham House, has b fine display of all kinds of lamps, tools, kitchen utensils, and farming requisites; Mr Fred Carter an exceptionally fine lot of game, fish, turkeys, geese, ducks, etc.; J. JoiMB and Thomas, Furniture Warehouse, one of the finest Stocks Off furniture in the Vale- Dicks' Boot Stores' window has been very Smartly dressed with their celebrated boots and shoes and slippers. Mr Charlton, Charlton Stones, has a fine display of Christmas fruit, rwinœ and spririte; Mr H. P- Roberts, chemist, & protifjr selection of eoenit bottles; Mrs Owen, .Wadding street, a splendid selection of toys; Mr G. R. Jones, chemist. a nice selection of per- fumes and toilet requisites. Mr L. Williams and Sons, Gwydr House, exhibit Christmas cards, fancy photo frames, toilet sets in cases, purses, etc., and in another :window, gentlemen's caps, silk handker- chiefs, ties, etc.—The Star Supply Co. have ar- ranged an abundant display of Christmas fruit, ipftd oakes, etc-, to excellent advantage, while in another window there is a nice 6how of Danish bacons, hams, and cheese.—Mr W. Hughes, Co.m1p.ton House, has a varied assortment of toys, and has w-indow is tha centre of attraction with the juvenile element. Messrs E. B. Jones have gone to a grealt deal of trouible to present a creditable exhibition and have succeeded admirably, the Christmas fruit being arranged in a. most tempting manner-—Mr T. Tudor Williams, Waterloo House, shows a good selection of lamps, kitchen utensils, and f.arming machinery; Mr Evans, Cycle Deipo., gramophones, foobba.ll and cycle requisitiee; Mr T. R. Jones, the well-known saddler, a. fine se- lection of saddlery goods and cycle requisaties; Mr W. Williams, trunks and saddlery; Mr T. Fletcher Hughes, a fine variety of fruit, game, geeae, turkeyB, etc.; Mr D. G. Wilson, gentle- man's fancy shirts, veste, umnbrelJaa, handker- chiefs, 600. Mr IdwaJ Parry, of The PharunacyT shows a tergto saltation of perfumes in fancy bottles, toilet brushes, cigars, and cigarettes- India- rubber sponges, soap in fancy boxes, perfumed eaitahets, and photographic albums; Mr Jones 24, Station Road, a fine display of Christmas fruit and sweets, and Miss Roberts, confectioner, Station Road, fancy calces and toys, fitted with Sweefe a.nd chocolates.
