I Fashionable Weddings. Lovatt-Broadhurst. ON Thursday afternoon, at St. Paul's Church, Colwyn Bay, the marriage was solemnised of Mr John Henry Broadhurst, of Lawrence House,* Burslem, and Missi ilpha Lovatt, fourth daughter of t'he late Mr Eli Lovatt, of Withy Stakes, Werrington, from Ivy Lea, PrinoeU Drive, Colwyn Bay. The Church was well-filled with a large and -fashionable congregation, including most of the bride's friends in Colwyn Bay, amongst whom were many of the oldest residents in the town, and many who had come from a distance to witness the nuptials. The bride looked charm- ing in a dress' of grey voile, trimmed with white n silk, .orange blossoms, and very handsome lace, the gift of Mr and Mrs Hardy, of Long Ea¿or., Derby. She carried a lovely bouquet of white roses, lilies of the valley, maiden-hair fern and :milax, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid were attired in pink vcile., trimmed with pink i;,ilk and cream lace. They wore gold chains and turquoise rings, and car- ried beautiful bouquets,tihe gifts cf the' bride- groom. The bride wacz, escorted to church by her brother-in-law, Mr Rofe, of Burslem, and was given away by Mrs Bridgwood, of Armita' Staffordshire. The best' man was Mr H. Broad- hurst. The ceremony was performed bv the lev, Canon Roberts, vicar of St. Paul' Colwyn Bay, and the Rev. J. H. Hope, M.A., curate. The Rev. E. W. Bridgwood, curate of Armi- tage, Staffordshire, gave an address at the con- clusion of the service, which was fully choral. He said the happy pair were present that day, because of their love for one another, which love would! carry them through dark days a; well as bright ones, but he begged them to think of a love even greater than their own—the love of God, which would carry them through the trials .and difficulties of life, and bring them safely to the, happy land which all hoped to reach. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Hotel Metropole, at which there was a large attendance, and the newly-married pair received the hearty felicitations of a ho.st of friencls. The wedding cake, which was made by Mrs Malam, was a triumph of the- decorative art. The happy pair left by the 6.18 train, amidst the renewed good wishes- of many friends, for Liverpool, 'en route for the Isle of Man. List of Presents. [FROM A CORRESPONDENT.] AT Caerhun Chapel, near Bangor, on Wednes- day, the 22nd i, i st., the marriage took place of Maggie, only daughter of Mrs Edwards, Brvn Gwilym, Glasinfryn, to -Ir VI". M. Eamcs, eld- est son of Mr and Mrs W. Eames, Llanfair- fechan. The officiating minister was the Re T. Mordaf Pierce, Llanidloes, assisted by Jhe Revs. R. Morgan Jones, Llanfairfechan, and T. C. Roberts, Llanfairfechan. 1 he bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr Richard Jones, Cremlyn, L'pper Bangor, was attired in a dress of white Oriental silk tnmmed with Brussels lace, with hat composed of white chiffon trimmed with orange blossoms and os:rich feathers. She wore, a diamond ring (the gift of the bridegroom), and carried a bouquet of roses and lilies of the valley. She was attended by four bridesmaids, viz. Miss Thomas, London House, Bangor; Miss Olwen Jones, Cremlyn; Miss Lily Eames, Trigfan and Miss Laura Roberts, Hall Bank, Llanfair- fechan, who wore dresses of white silk and ecru insertion and chiffon hats to match, and carried bouquets of pink roses and- lilies of the valley. They also wore, gold chains, the gifts of the bridegroom. The bride's mother was tastefully dressed in black moire, trimmed with Maltese lace, and was wearing a black toque with white ospreys. The mother of the bridegroom looked very nice in a dress of black moire, trimmed with white chiffon and black guipure lace, with toque to match. The groomsmen were Mr Arthur Eames (brother), and Air Ll-ew. Edwards (the bride's brother). The wedding march was played by 'Master Humphreys, Cartrelle, Upper Bangor. After the ceremony, Mr and 4jrs Eames were presented with a handsome Bible and Ilymn Book bv the officials of the chapel, they being the first couple to be married there. A re- ception was held at Glasinfryn, the guests num- bering over. ;(xty, and; in the evening Mrs Edwards gave an "at home," which was well- attended. In the afternoon the happy couple left for Leamington, where the honeymoon will be spent. Thomson-Hughes. I ON Thursday at Lianrhaiadr, the marriage took place of Miss Evelyn Vera, vnungest daughter of Colonel H. R. Hughes, of Ystrad, agent to Sir Watkin Wvnn, to Mr Guv Thomson, eldesf son cf. Mr John Thomson, of Woodferry, and the Old Bank. Oxford. The ceremony was performed in the Parish Church by the Bishop of St. Asaph, assisted hv the Rev. A. R Parker. rector of Malpas, and the Rev. H. Trevor Hughes, curate in charge of the parish. The hride, who was given avvav by her father, was attended bv Miss Mildred Hughes (her sister), Miss Mabel Thomson (sister of the bridegroom), and Miss Gertrude Howell Evans. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr H. G. Thomson. A reception was subsequently held at Ystrad. Continued on Vage 6. -+-
