Gentlemen,—I wish to tender my heart-felt thanks to you for the great and lasting good that I have derived from taking GWILYM KVAN8' QUININE BITTLITS, aad I "rite this letter, as it might be of soioo benelic to others suffering, as I was, some years ago. I willingly agree for you to verify my statements, and enclose the names and addresses of the Doctors I was under. In 1890 my health began to decline, I had no appetite for my meals, and I mffered from Weakness. I also had a fear of that dreadful disease, Consumption. Getting worse, I consulted a Doctor, and was under his treatment about six weeks, but I was no better. I then took eertain patent medicines, I should say about 14 bottles, but I seemed to be getting worse and worse. All work was torture to me. I tried another Doctor, who told me that I was suffering iroia Nervous Debility and Indigestion, and had completely run down. I could not sleep at night for pains in my chest, near the heart, and a swelling in the throat almost suffocated me, When sleep did come it was only of short duration. I visited a Throat Hospital, and I went there regularly twice a week for upwards of nine monthe, but I foulild I was getting worse. I then consulted another Doctor, who advised me to take a good tonic for six months. After having spent over £20 in medicine, &c., I started taking GWILYM EVANS' QUININK BITTERS. When I had taken two bottles I found I was "lightly better, and after I had taken the fourth bottle the pain in my chest and throat seemed less, and I realised that I was RettiDg better in health and spirits. Alter taking a course of GVv'ILM EVANS QUININLT BITTERS I could eat and enjoy my food, and my sleep at night refreshed me. MY strength returned, and life was again a plea U e to mG. In all, I took about eleven 4s. tid. bottles of (jWILI-U T'VANS QUININE BITTERS, and I was pmed. Since then I have had perfect health, my complaints have not troubled me, and during the last eight years I have not lost a single day's work through illness, as my employers can testify, thus proving that it is a Genuin;: Cure. GWILYM EVANS' QUININE BITTERS fought the disease itaelf. I sinoerely hope that this testimonial will meet the oyes 01 those who may be suflVriiig like I was, and I have great pleasure in allowing you to publish the same. Jours sincerely, J. H. SAUNDERS. DENBIGHITES IN SOUTH AFRICA."—In our paragraph last week respecting the meeting of Private Fred Holgate and Mr Thomas Smith in Bloemfontein a curious mistake was made; in correcting the type a line of type belonging to another paragraph was dropped into this paragraph, which made it read curiously. But no doubt our readers, who noticed the error, would see that the line had got in in error and would be able to understand the meaning of the sentences involved. ._---------------A HENLLAN…
A HENLLAN GAMEKEEPER'S SAD END. DROWNING FATALITY AT RHYL. Some consternation was felt in Rhyl on Tuesday when it became known that early that morning the dead body of a stranger, apparently a working man, had been dis- covered on a sand bank at Foryd. Enquiries resulted in the identity of the body as that of Robert John Evans, aged 31, lately assistant gamekeeper in the employ of Mr W C Jones, Llannerch, and who had been residing with his brother-in-law at Temple Bar-square, Denbigh. Deceased was a native of Henllan, near Denbigh. On Tuesday evening the circumstances of the fatality were investigated at an inquest held at the Town Hall before the Flintshire coroner, Mr F LI Jones, and a jury, of whom Mr W Winterbottom was chosen foreman. Isaac Jones, attendant at the Denbigh Asylum, was the first witness called. He identified the body as that of his brother- in-law, whom he last saw alive at his lodgings at about eight o'clock on Monday. Witness asked deceased whether he was going to Rhyl for the Royal visit, and in reply deceased said he expected he would, adding that at the same time he should try and look out for work. Robert John Jones, of 6, Windsor-street, Rhyl, an acquaintance of deceased, said he saw him last about half-past two on Monday afternoon in High-street. Witness had a word or two of conversation with :him, and although he had had something to drink he was quite able to take care of himself. William Roose, waterman, residing at Foryd, stated that whilst at work on the quay, shortly after six o'clock that morn- ing, he notioed the body of a man On the sand bank and at once put off in a boat to get to it. Life, however, was quite extinct. The body must have been washed down the river with the ebb tide for some distance, as the spot where it lay was covered to a depth of nine or ten feet at high water. Police-sergt McWalter proved searching the body of deceased and finding thereon the sum of 16s Id., together with a watch and chain and various minor articles. The watch had stopped at a quarter to niue. On the recommendation of the Coroner the jury returned a verdict of Found drowned."

CLOCAENOG. THE BOARD SCHOOL REPORT.—There is no necessity to inform the inhabitants of this locality that the Clocaenog Beard School con- tinues to make steady and sure advancement. The report to hand this week testifies enough, and renders praise and comment unnecessary. We might, however, mention that the highest possible grants, together with the exceptional grants-Arts 104 and 105—have been earned. This speaks volumes for the successful work of the headmaster, Mr E J Jenkins, and the assistant-mistress, Miss B A Jones. We hope that the teachers and scholars will continue to merit our confidence in the future as in the past. The following is the report:—Mixed department The progress made by the scholars is highly satisfactory. Infanta The infants are being carefully and successfully taught.
