THE FATAL TAVERN BRAWL. An inquest was held un Saturday at Marylebona on the batty of James Marsh (37), commis- sion agent, who was shot at the Durweston Arms on Wednesday night by John Marsdeu, iiinL-eer,er.-Ellau Marsb, widow, stated that the deceased was a clerk out of a situation, and left home at one o'clock on Wednesday. She heard the same night that he had been shot.- Wilham Crutchiey, tobacco moulder, said that he saw deceased on Wednesday afternoon in the bserhouse kept by Marsden in Durweston- street between four and five o'clock. Marsh was r.tanding at the bar talking with a mau named Butcher. There were several persons present. According to the evidence of other witnesses Butcher and Marsden had a dispute about some bets. Butcher said he would have his money, and tried to gat behind the bar. Marsden said he would fetch the money, and afterwards came out of the parlour with a revolver. Butcher thereupon retreated, and soon afterwards there was a report as of a revolver. being fired. After tho police evidence the inquest was adjourned for the attend- f ance of Butcher.
