« £ njjal, &t. LLANRWST UNION. APPOINTMENT OF COLLECTORS OF POOR RATES. AMENDED NOTICE. THE Guardians of the above Union will, at their meeting to be held oa Tuesday, the 15th March instant, proceed to elect Two Collectors of Poor Rates, viz., one for the Llan. rwst District, and the other for the Pentrevoelas District of the Union. Llanrwst District com- prises the Parishes of Gwytherin, Llanddoget, Llangerniew, Llanrwst (Rural). Llanrwst (Urban), and Maenan, an area of 33,275 acres and a population of 5844. The salary for the District will be £60 per annum. Pentrevoelas Distriot comprises the Parishes of Bettwsycoed, Dolwyddelen, Eidda, Gwernhowel, Llanvhych- wyn. Penmacbno, Pentrevoelas, Tir If an, Tre Brys, Trefriw, and Trewydyr, an area of 78,125 aores, and a population of 6077. The salary for this District will be E40 per 4nnum. The salary of both Collectors will be subjeot to the statutory deduction under The Poor Law Officers' Superannuation Act, 1896," and the appointment will be made subject to the approval of the Local Government Board. Candidates are Dot to exceed 40 years of age, and must be fully competent to perform the duties of the offices as prescribed by the Orders of the Local Government Board, and be pre- pared to devote the whole of their time to such duties, except that they be allowed to hold any other appointment which they might have under the Guardians, the District Councils, or some other Parochial Authority in tbe Union aa the Guardians may approve of, and the persons appointed will be required to give security through some Guarantee Society (to be approved by the Guardians) for the flum of £ 400 each, and to enter upon their duties on the 26th March instant. TENDERS. THE Guardians of the above-named Union are desiroua of entering into the following Contracts, viz.- 1. For the supply of Meat, Flour, Groceries, Shoes, Clogs, and other articles for the use of the Workhoaee, during the six months ending 29th day of September next. 2. For supplying Coffins for Paupers dying in the Workhouse and in the Carnarvon, Llandwroe, Llanrug and Llanidan Re- lief District for the same period. 3. For tupplyiag Books, Stationery, Forms, &c.. during the year ending 25th March, 1899. 4. For the ordinary Printing Work that will be required for the Union during the year ending 25th day of March, 1899. Information as to the amoont of each artiole consumed in the Workhouse, during the corres- ponding perod of lailt year, may be had of the Master and as to the two latter at the office of the undersigned. No tender will be received unless Fent in a securely fastened envelope, with proper endorse- ment duly written thereon. Samples will be required of all artioles that can be sent, but nothing must be writ-ten or printed on the artioles to give information as to the person sending the same, inside the parcel, however, there should be a letter or number corresponding with the letter or number on the Tender. The Tenders under seal are to be addressed to me at tt e Union House, Carnarvon, and received not later than 10 o'clock on Saturday, the 19th -day of March instant.
