postscript. WEDNESDAY EVENING, Oct. 17. The Paris papers of Sunday have arrived. They cdve the most aSHcting details of the progress of the fever in Spain. Barcelona has already lost two-thirds of its population, but the greatest order is maintained, and the efforts of charity are unre- mitting. By private advices from Vienna, we learn, that a very general expectation prevails in that capital, that the King of England would make his appear- ance there in the month of October or November. Further plans of retrenchment" are described as being in the meditation of Ministers, who are to take in hand, it is said, the long-neglected office of Receivers-General of Counties. There are at pre- sent two, or more, Receivers-General in some of the counties; but one in each county is to be the future allowance throughout England.
