(,'A I)OXTON-BARR f FORESTERS' SMOKER.—Under the auspices of Court Wenvoe Castle of the Ancient Order of Foresters, a smoking concert, will be held on Saturday evening next at the Royal Hotel, Cadoxton, when a presentation will be made to Bro. F. Ackerman, P.C.R. The chair will be taken at seven o'clock. Tickets, 3d each. OFF TO SOUTH AFRICA.—The family of Mr Sqaires, formerly foreman platelayer ill. the employ of the Barry Railway Company, left Cad- oxton on Wednesday night, the 29th ultimo, for South Africa, where Mr Squires has been employed on the State Railways for some time. The family had been resident in Cadoxton for about fifteen years. SMOKER AT THE JUNIOR CONSERVATIVE CLUB. -On Monday evening next, eommencing at eight o'clock, a smoking concert will be held in the Dwnraven Hall, Cadoxton, in connection with the Junior Conservative Club Company, Limited. The chair will be taken by Mr F. W. Hybart, and an address will be delivered by Councillor R. Hughes, J.P., Cardiff. Members and inter- affiliated members are cordially invited to be present. BENEFIT CONCERT AT THE DUNBAVEN HALL.— There was a good attendance at a concert given at the Dunraven Hall, Vere-street, Cadoxton (kindly lent for the occasion), on Wednesday evening last, for the benefit of Mr A. Saunders, who has been seriously ill for some time. The chair was occupied by Mr E. Williams, and he was supported by Messrs H. Waters, F. Ackerman, R. Jordan, B. Jenkins, &o. Those who contributed to the musical programme during the evening were Messrs E. Jenkins and Party, W. Buckler, H. Waters, F. Ackerman, R. Jordan, Dan Davies, Ivor Thomas, &c,, whilst Miss Gregor operated on the phonograph very successfully. Mr E. Ryan ably presided at the piano and a very pleasant evening was spent. A vote of thanks to the chairman for presiding was accorded with musical honours, and the concert was brought to a close with the singing of God save the King."
