PERSONS desirous of contracting with the JT Guardians of this Union for the next six months, for the supply of Bread per 4 pound Loaf, made from the best Plain Tie and best Leather Tie Flour, mixed in equal quantities, Flour (beat Plain Tie), Meat, Grocery, Cheese, Butter, Milk, Rice, Shoes, Coal, Soap, Candles, Peas, Oatmeal, and other Articles of Consumption mentioned in the form of Tender; as also for Clothing for the Workhouse of the said Union, and for Hauling Firewood, per Ton, from Panteg Station to the Workhouse and Cold Blast Slag in the lump for breakup, per ton, from above, Mr. Chapman's machine, Upper Race (the Guardians paying the Royalty), the respective tonnage to be ascertained by each loud being weighed on the machine at the Workhouse, and delivery made aa required by the Master, are requested to deliver unsigned TENDERS at MY OFFICE on or before 5 p.m. on TUESDAY, the 18th inst., and send samples to the Workhouse on the same morning, by 11 o'clock without the Tenderer's name being disolosed by the Tender, or samples, or otherwise, but respectively lubelled with numbered labels, to be obtained at my Office. Tenders, to be similarly labelled and numbered, are also invited for Haircutting and Shaving in the Workhouse, for Straw, Ironmongery, Earthenware, and Chemists' Goods, to be supplied to the Workhouse during the same period also for the Pigwash and for the supply of Coffins and conduot of Funerals for the Union Workhouse, Abersychan, Panteg, and Usk Districts for the year ending Michaelmas, 1901, the Contractor to provide at his own expense a suitable one-horse hearse (to be approved by them), inclusive of horse and driver. The estimated quantities likely to be required and produced, and the probable time of delivery, together with needful information, may be obtained on application to the Master of the Workhouse. Should the Guardians deem it advisable, the Contractor shall find one or more Surety or Sureties, who shall enter into a bond conditioned for the due performance of the Contract, or shall otherwise secure same as the Guardians shall direct. It is competent for any Person to tender for any of the Articles separately, and the Guardians do not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any Tender, and they resarve to themselves the power of accepting any part of a Ter der. PRINTED FORMS or TENDER with numbered labels MAY Bh HAD AT MY OFFICE on application (bvt will in no case be delivered without), and no Tender will be entertained except upon the printed Form, or that either therein or by the samples accompanying discloses the name of the Tenderer, or that is delivered elsewhere than at my Office, or that is not received before a p.m. on the 18th instant.
