"WEATHER .VOTES FOR MARCH.—On the ,whol,e the month wias fairly fine,and the amount of bright sunshine was haH as miucih again as in the corresponding month of last year. The wind a,s a rule was moderate, aind mainly south- westerly. The. totlal bright sunshine recorded for March was 135 hours and 54 minutes, com- pared with 89 hours, and six minutes for March, 1904. There, was only one sunless' stage during the month. The rainfall was 5.68 inches., the greatest fail i!n one day oeing 0.96 inches. For Cerrig-y-druidion the, total was 5.98 (Col. Main- waring). Talycafn, 7.18 (Louis W. Jelf-Petit, J. P.) Pontybanit, 7.24 (Branidreth Quarries); Denbigh Asylum, 5.74; Llyn Bran, 5-93, The maximum temperature in the shade, at Beittws-y- coed was 63, being quite unusual in March, and the highest temperature in the sun was 119. Tlhiere was a south- weslt gale on the I sth ult., hail, thunder, and rain. Tlhe temperature, of the elarth (four feet below the surface) is 45, compared with 43 at; same time of l'aslt year. The monit,h of March throughout li* e country has 'beierii the healthiest for about ten years, j-u.dgi.ng by tihe- death-rate in t'he 76 great towns.

H..Roberts, of tihe George and Dragon, reports that the' entries ar.emore numer- ous tihlan at any previous exhibition held here, .a.nd the quality of the exhibits ? said to be superior. Upwards of r130 will be given in prizes', not to. speak of a challenge cup and sil- ver medals open to all comers. There will also be a grand display of turnouts, a jumping competition—the chief prize in this department being £1.1 in money—with pony and donkey races. Given rune weather the Conway Horse 'Show Society anticipate breaking all records. SAORED CO'NiCEfR'T.—In aid of the Baptist Church Funds, the annual en.tertainimenti was held at the church in Lancaster Square on Tues- day evening. A substantial coffee supper, wefll ..served by t!h.e, ladies committee in the school- room, was. quite a success. This was, followed by a sacred concert in the chapel, over which Capt. E. Dolwyddelen. ANNUAL MEETING OF PARISHIONERS. -On Friday last, the above was held at the Parish Schools, and Mr R Parry Hughes, Bod Gwynedd, presided over a good attendance. It was resolved that a call of £ 22 be made respecting the Burials Act, and £7 10s for general expenses. It was also resolved to bring pressure upon the Geirionydd Rural District Council respecting the water scheme, and the clerk, Mr Ellis Pierce, stated that the parishioners could not get the Llyniau Dywennydd as they were leased to the quarries, and he re- ferred to a similar case at Bala. A lighting rate of 2jd in the £ was fixed. 4

All the sheep that were sent for slalle were readily dis- posed of, couple (ewes, and lambs) makiimg" from 2.41s to 295 3d each couple. 1100 auctioneers are to be congratulated upon the success of tlhe sale. -HOLIDAYING FROM PRETORIA. — Mtr Evan Jones Robe'rts, son. of Mr Robertis, Taly- boinit Gardens., Llanrwst, is on a visit, to his ,parents' from Pretoria, South Africa. Young Roberts, who was first trained ion the Llanrwst Post Office, thire.e years ago, during the war re- ceived an appointment in the office of the General plosltmaslDelr at Pretoria-, and is getting on well, and is now on a. holiday of six monfths. MR EVAN ROBERTS.-On Monday last the Revs William Thomas, pastor of Zion Chapel, Philip Price, of Horeb, and R Tones-Williams, of Penmachno, visited Liverpool to hear the famous Welsh revivalist, and if possible to induce him to visit Llanrwst. The three reverend gentlemen heard Mr Roberts, and would have liked to have heard him several times again, but they all agreed that he is a person of wonderful power, and poss- essed of peculiar magnetism.

Newmarket. DARFSiH MELTING. The annual, parish meeting was held at the Wynne Schools on Fri- day evening. There was a very poor attendance of parishioners. Mr Edward Wynne was. elect- ,ed to the chair, and after the minutes of the, previous meeting had been read and, confirmed, the clerk (!Mr J. Roberts) read the accounts of the Wynne Charity School. We understand that there is a movement on foot to present a testimon- iall to the Rev W S Williams, who has been curate in the parish for the past few years, and is now leaving the district owing to ill health. RE- IVAL.-Ttie Silver Band headed the usual Saturday night procession from the town to Salem Chapel where a united prayer meeting took place. Several local enthusiasts proceeded to Liverpool on Fridav and were successful in gaining admit- tance to the Welsh Wesleyan Chapel, Shaw-street, to hear Evan Roberts on Saturday night. MUTUAL IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY.—On Thursday, the Mutual Improvement Society closed the session with a social evening the catering was successfully carried out by the lady members of the class. After the tables were cleared the Rev W Broadley, B.Sc., took the chair. The following artistes kindly contributed to the entertainment: pianoforte solos, Miss Redstone, Carnarvon reci- tations, Miss N. Roberts, Cartref songs, &c., Mrs Roberts (Althorp), Messrs T. He was suffering from rapid consumptiibin. PRESENTATION TO A MINISTER. On Tuesday night a farewell meeting was held at theWielsih Baptist Chapel in Waiter-street to fhle Rev T. SihanL-liand,, who has conducted a very successful 15 years' ministry i.n the town. The chair wias occupied by the Rev Dr Abel Parry. The presentation of a purse of gold, on behalf of t'hte church and subscribers1 was made by 'liÏ!SIS' Diavies, Abbey-street, who was one of the oldest members of the churdh. Mrs Shaniklaind wa.s also presented with a handsome Family Bible from tihe Sunday School, and the two children also received Bibles from the members of the school. The Chairman ham died to Mrs Shan-k- land: a beautiful silver cake dish), which was. presnted by an anonymous friend. During the evening addresses were delive.re.d by the chair- man, the Rev S. T. Jones,, the Rev Ed,. Hum- phreys, the Archdruid. the Rev D. G. Lewis, and others. The Rev T. Shank land returned thanks on behalf of himself and his family for their handfsome gifts.
