AT a GRAND COMMITTEE of OFFICERS from the various Lodges coudrising the Tredegar District, held at the KING'S HEAD,1TREDEGAR, ou the 25th day of June, 1834, the-Jolbtoing Resolutions were duly proposed, and unanimously agreed upon I.-That the Officers ofdach Lodge in the Tredegar District are requested not :d admit any person a member of our Institution, who may be a member of, or a contri- butor into, the Funds of thy Trades' Union Society," and to enforce the Laws 01 the Order against any Brother who, at any time hereafter, shall be found a member of, or a contributor into, the Fuds of any such Associations. 2.—That this Comlliitte being convinced that the 1. O. of O. F. is founded on the pure principles of 11 Universal Benevolence and Charity, having no other end in view than to promote the general interest of man- kind, without any distinction of Tank, sect, or party of men, it was agreed that its Laws shall be strictly enforced against any of its membe who may be found counte- nancing or abetting any proceedings emanating from any party contrary to the Laws of our country, or the rules of any legal establishment thtrein established. 3.—That the presiding Officers of each Lodge in the District are respectively called upon, by this Committee, to enforce the laws of the Order to their utmost extent (even to expulsion) against any member who may be found guilty of aiding,, assisting, oi otherwise abbetting, the lawless and disgraceful proceedings of those nocturnal de- predators, called the Scotch Cattle;" and also, against any Brother who may, knowingly, propose or second any person belonging to, or connected with, that detestable conclave, to become a member in any of our Lodges. Any Officer neglecting his duty, in either case, shall suffer ex- pulsion, or such any other penalty, a Committee of past and present Officers may jndge just and proper. 4.—That the 118th Law of the Order shall be strictly enforced against any Officer or Brother, who may have left his employ through a strike, or turn out for wages; and no relief shall be granted to any one that will do so, under any circumstances. 5.- That the Resolutions now past be inserted in the Merthyr Guardian and the Merlin Papers, and in one or more of the Welsh Magazines; and also, 400 Copies of the sime shall be printed in the shape of handbills, and be circulated throughout the District.
