St Mary's Annual Re-Union.
St Mary's Annual Re-Union. The annual tea meeting and re-union in connec- tion with St. Mary's Church was held at he Town Hall yesterday. The. attendance was Wge, while the building was crowded to excess at he evening gathering. The arrangements were arried out under the direction of the Rev Father barker, with the following committee :-Captain .ribbin (secretary), Messrs C Wilders, P Byrnes, Hubert O'Grady, Mrs Fazakerley, Miss Hushen, -Miss Fazakerley, and Mrs Shepherd. The ladies vho presided and assisted at the tea, were -drs DeRance, Mrs Perks, Miss Alexandra Hotel), Miss Mathews, Mrs and Miss iones, (8 West Parade), Mrs Vaughan (Gronant Street), Mrs Clarke (Windsor Street), Mrs Jno 'larke, Mrs Symondu, Mrs and the Misses tfacWalter, Mrs and Miss Shannon, Mrs jnd Miss Shepherd, Miss Brierley, Mrs iyrnes, Miss Hushen, Mrs Hibbits, and the hisses Sisson and Ward (St. Asaph). Plants and lowerp for decorative purposes were lent by Mr Shepherd (Glan Morfa), and Mrs Clark (Sun Inn). i.'he performance in the evening consisted of a very ^editable production of the operetta, entitled, Snow White and the seven I)warts." DYSERTH.
DYSERTH. CONCERT.-The annual concert in connection with the Dyserth National School took place on Wednesday, 26th inst., when Leonard Hughes, Esq., occupied the chair. The room as usual was literally crammed with people, and the programme was gone through to the evident satifaction of those present. Amongst other items which were well received were the "Action Songs," "The Chinese Lantern," "The Little Cooks," "Topsy Turvy," "0 merry it is at close of day, 11 The Fire Brigade." The performers were all with one exception connected with the school, the gentleman who kindly assisted was Mr Thomas Jones, Tan-y- foel. Mrs Thomas conducted, while Mr Thomas acted as accompanist. Addresses were by the;Chainr.an, Rev J Owen, and Mr Scourhe d, and after the usual votes of thanks a most enjoy, able evening's entertainment was brought to a close. Tuesday, February the first, will see the initial issue of the ("Daily Contract Recorder"-a new candidate for public favour. The" Contrat _11 Recorder" will be published at one penny ana be on sale at same time as other London morning dailies. The object of the new venture is to sup- ply commercial intelligence and particulars of a" tenders and contracts throughout Europe. ABERGELE.
ABERGELE. FOOTBALL Yesterday the Amateur Thursday team journeyed to Abergele to play the return match with that town's team. The Amateurs were accompanied by a. goodly number of supporters. The homesters won the toss, and W Jones set the ball in motion. Abergele were the first to score this goal was disputed as offside by the visitors, but the referee over-ruled it, and allowed the goal. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at the expiration of 40 days from the date hereof, application under the Seal of the County Council will be made to the Secretary of State for the Home Department, to sanction and allow the following BYELAWS, For the good rule and government of the County of Flint, made in pursuance of the Local Govern- ment Act, 1888, by the County Council of the said County, at a Meeting held on the Eighth day of December, 1897, at which 41 Members of the Council (being not less than two-thirds of the whole number of the Council) were present. Extent of Byelaws. 1. These Byelaws shall extend and apply to the County of Flint, (except the Borough of Flint wholly situate therein). Interpretation of Terms. 2. Throughout these Byelaws, the following words and expressions shall, if not inconsistent with the context, have the meanings hereinafter respectively assigned to them, that is to say (a) Street means and includes any high- way, public bridge, and any road, lane, footway, square, court, alley, or pass- age, over any or either of which the public have right to pass or to have access thereto. (b) Words importing the singular number shall also include the plural. Prohibiting the Annoyance oj Persons attending Places of Worship. 3. No person shall to the. -yance or obstruc- tion of any persons going to, attending at, or returning from divine service in any Church, Chapel, or other place of public worship, wilfully and persistently loiter about or near the entrance of any such Church, Chapel, or other place of public worship. Prohibiting the use of Profane, Obscene, or Indecent Language, Gesture, or Conduct, in any Street or Public Place. 4. No person shall in any Street or Public place, or in any place within view or hearing of any Street or Public place, use any profane, obscene, or indecent language, gesture, or conduct to the annoyance of passengers, or use any abusive language, gesture, or conduct towards any person with intent to put such person in fear or whereby a breach of the peace may be occasioned. Vehicles to have Lamps attached after Sunset. 5. A person driving or having charge of any Waggon, Cart, or other Carriage drawn by a horse or other animal, upon any Main Road or Highway, within the County, shall, during the period between one hour after Sunset and one hour before Sunrise, carry attached to such Waggon. Cart, or other Carriage, a Lamp or Lamps, which shall be so constructed and placed as to exhibit a white or uncoloured light in the direction in which he is proceeding, and so lighted and kept lighted as to afford adequate means of signalling the approach or position of such Waggon, Cart, or other Carriage, provided that where one Lamp only is so carried, it shall be attached to the off or right side of the Waggon, Cart, or other Carriage; and provided also that where such Waggon, Cart, or other Carriage is carrying a load which projects more than 6 feet behind the body thereof, such person shall also carry a Lamp or Lamps, so constructed and placed, and so lighted and kept lighted, as to exhibit a red light or lights visible to persons overtaking the same. Provided always that these Byelaws shall not apply to any Farm Cart, Waggon, or other Car- riage, proceeding on the business of a farm from one to another part of such farm, at a rate not exceeding three miles an hour. Prohibiting Betting in Street and Public Place. 6. No person shall frequent and use any {[Street, or other public place, either on behalf of himself or of any other person, for the purpose of bookmaking or betting, or wagering, or agreeing to bet or wager with any person. Penalties. 7. Any person who shall offend against any of the foregoing Byelaws, shall be liable on summary conviction for each offence to the following pen- alties, that is to say (a) For an offence against Byelaws numbered 3 4, and 5, not exceeding 40 Shillings (b) For an offence against Byelaw numbered 6. not exceeding Five Pounds. Local Government Acts, 1888 & 1894 The St. Asaph Rural District, the Parishes of St. Asaph, Bodelwyddan, Waen, Dyserth, Meliden, Rhuddlan, Part of the Civil Parish of Abergele, The Urban District of Rhyl, and the Urban District of Prestatyn. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Com- mittee appointed by the Flintshire County Council, under and for the purposes of the Local Government Act, 1888, and the Local Government Act, 1894, or either of them, will hold an Inquiry at the Town Hall, Rhyl, on Wednesday, the 16th of February next, at 12 o'clock at noon, and will then and there proceed to take into consideration the following matters, that is to say 1. A Proposal by the Guardians of the St Asaph Union. (a) That the Parish of Rhyl should be divided into wards for the Election of Guardians, and that the boundary of such Wards be coterminous with the Wards as they now exist for Urban District Council purposes. (b) That the present number of Guardians to be elected by the Parish of Rhyl remain as at present but that three of the total number shall be elected by each Ward. The Wards to be named the East, West, and South Wards respectively. 2. To deal with that portion oi title Civil Parish of Abergele, now situate within the Rhyl Urban District, and to name the new Parish created by the operation of the Local Government Act, 1894. 3. To name that portion of the ancient Parish of Rhuddlan, now formed into a Separate Parish within the Urban District of Rhyl. 4. Proposals by the Prestatyn Urban District (c) That the number Members of that Council be increased. (d) That representations be made to the Local Government Board to have the County Council Electoral Division, comprising the Parishes of Dyserth, Meliden, and Prestatyn, divided into two Wards, with a Representa- tive on the County Council for each Ward.
