VALE OF CLWYD Agricultural Show. ANOTHER SUCCESS.; The seventh annual show of the Vale of Cl wyd Agricultural Society was held yesterday (Thursday) at Howell's School, Park Denbigh. There was a good attendance of the general public which bore favourable comparison with the at- tendance of previous years. In fact it was the best attendance since the inception of the Show. The amount taken at the gate was Y,114 9s, which showed an increase of X8 18 6d as compared with last year. The receipts at the grand stand were similar to those of last year. The! quality of the stock exhibited was excellent and showed much improvement in many respects, thus justifying the existence of the Society whose primary object it is to im- > prove the quality of our local stock. Taking figures into consideration the Society advances in importance year by year. The total entries in 1905, were 1044 1906, 1056 and 1907,1111. The horses entered for competition this year numbered 210 as against 165 last year; cattle 122, AS frgainsfc 102 i and sheep 127, I as against 97 last year. J Tha entries in tiic pig and dog classes numbered exactly the same as last year, being 7 pigs and 72 dogs. The poultry classes included cage birds and pigeons numbered 140. The entries in the pro- duce class numbered 82, and in the horti- cultural section 293. The drawing com- petition in which the elementary school children took part numbered 50, and in several of the latter classes there was an increase in the number of entries. Taken as a vi hole the show passed off as successfully as any of its predecessors, and proved to be a most instructive and enjoy- able event. Again this year the Committee is to be congratulated upon the splendid accom- modation they had provided for the exhibits in the show ground, the general arrange- ments being excellent. The onerous duties of secretary were again discharged by Mr J Lloyd Williams, who manages every- thing admirably, thus ensuring the success of the show and the satisfaction of all concerned. The hon. sec. (Mr F B Cloagh) was unavoidably absent in camp in Scarborough. The Society was extremely fortunate in obtaining the services of Mr Thos Williams, J.P., Llewesog, who acted as president this year. He made an ideal president, and supported the show in every possible way, his practical knowledge of agriculture and thorough acquaintance with the dis- strict making him an extremely popular president. The Vice-presidents where His Worship the Mayor of Denbigh (Mr Robert Owen, J.P.), and Mr Lloyd 01 Cotton Hall, The Society were again fortunate in this respect, and any two more popular vice-presidents than the above nilmed gentlemen it weuld be im- possible to find. Major Salusbury, of ISachygraig, the chairman of the Committee it would be absoultely impossible to equal. He was most indefatigable in his efforts to ensure the wellfare of the stow. 2LIST OF OFFICERS. The officers of the Society for the year 2were -President, T Williams, Esq., Llewesog.
