THE LATE MR HENRY THOMAS.—The funeral of the late Mr Henry Thomas, engineer, of 91, Dock View-road, Barry Docks, son-in-law of Mr T. Hopkin, Bassett Arms Hotel, took place at Pen- mafk on Saturday afternoon last, the officiating clergyman being the Rev Percy Mortimer, M.A., rector. The coffin, which was of panelled English oak, was covered with floral tributes from relatives and friends. The funeral arrangements were carried out in a satisfactory manner by Messrs James Jones and Company, Holton-road, Barry Docks. HOLTON ROAD ENGLISH BAPTIST SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.—Special services in connection with the anniversary of the Sunday School of Holton-road English Baptist Chapel, Barry Docks, will be held on Sunday next. The preacher both morning and evening, will be the Rev J. M. Jones, of Newbridge. In the afternoon, at 2.30, there will be a children's service, Councillor J. A. Manaton, J.P., chairman of the District Council presiding, and a programme of dialogues, recitations, singing, &c.. will be rendered. Mr T. S. Williams, will be the conductor, and Mr G. Rogers will preside at the organ. The collections will be in aid of the Sunday school funds.-On Wednesday evening at 7.30 Alderman J. C. Meggitt, J.P., will occupy the chair at a miscellaneous entertainment which will be given at the same place by the scholars and friends. The prices of admision will be 6d and 3d. THE VOLUNTARY HOSPITAL. — During the coming weeks notes will be left at every house in the district to enable everyone to give a mite towards the £ 1.300 required to pay for the new permanent building. They will be left on successive Thursdays, and collected on the follow- ing Monday. Will everyone who haa not yet received a note put odd pennies aside to put in their n.otes when they arrive ?
