BARRY GENTLEMAN ELECTED A MEMBER OF THE INSTITUTE OF NAVAL ARCHITECTS. We are pleased to hear that Mr E. S. Johnson, of the Barry Graving Dock and Engineering Company, Limited, Barry Docks, has been elected a member of the Institute of Naval Architects, London. Mr Johnson served his apprenticeship with Messrs Irvine and Company, ship builders and engineers, West Hartlepool, and on his retirement, after seventeen years' service, was the recipient of valuable testimonials, both from the principals and employees of the firm. For the lagb twelve years Mr Johnson has occupied a Tesponsible position with the Barry Graving Dock Company, of which Mr J. Lowdon, J.P., is the managing director.
