Sixty Armenians are stated to hare been kilied, but there are no details. The Porte bas ad- dressed a circular to its representstives abroad I declaring that the outbreak at Erzingjan was provoked by the Armenians, and the Turkish circular lays the biasne for the recent riots at Akbissar also upon the Armenians. AU indepen- dent reports, however, agree in stating that the Mussulman inhabitants of Akhissar attacked and plundered Armenians without any provocation.
