W3EXHAM BOROUGH. j SATURDAY.—Before Captain Gladstone and A. II til. Hughes, J"j=q. AX IMPOSTER. James Thompson (67), of Belfast, was charged by Deputy-CLiief-Constable E. Jones with begging by means of a forged letter. Tho Deputy stated that a.bout ten o'clock the previous evening prisoner gave liirn.-e!f up at the Police Station on charges of obtaining money by means of false documents, the whole of which he (witness) had. reason to believe were forged. He applied for a reriianci until Monday in order that inquiries, might be ma.de concerning the prisoner, whom ha had known u.3 a letter-begging impostor for the pa,st nine yaars, and who, in 1897, wis sentenced to four months hard labour on a similar charge to the above. Prisoner was remanded until Monday.
