DEiRArCxjxG THE RAILWAY. I William LurK, of Wrexham, was summoned by Inspector Sankey, of the Great Western Railway Company, for having travelled from Birkenhead to Wrexham without a ticket, and further with having given a false name and address when eharn?.—Mr Arthur Acton ?roBecut-d. and the defeiidan,? ~'ieaueu  pletiutu guilty.—Mr Acton said CD tem b, 21 t the d f ù t t 'I n & ?ptemb er 21gt the defendant travelled '? Birkenhead to Chester by the 6.ID -? ? train and presented a ticket to the collector which had not been issued that day. It was dated "29 Sep. 91," but-it was found to have been altered by ireans of printing. A collector came with defendant to Wrexham, and there he gave a wrong name and address to Mr Edgcumbe. When pressed, however, he gave the correct information required. Defendant was fined 15s and costs in the first case, and as and costs in the second. Henry Jones, gas stoker, was ordered to pay 2a week.y in Jones, '?of a boy, and Edward Ellis, '?orer,l8 per week on account of one of his sons, who like Jones' boy was at the Cheater Industrial School. November 12th, he was on duty in Hope-street, when he saw a pony and trap belonging to the defendant standing near the Black Lion. He saw it standing tht.re without anyone in charge of it for half an hour.—Defendant said the pony was a very quiet one, and he had gone into High-street on an errand.—Fined 2s 6d and costs. FIRING A CRIMWEY. I William Hanmer, hairdresser, xorke-street, waa summoned by P.C. Pugh for having allowed his chimney to have caught fire on Friday week. The defendant, who said it was due to an accident was fined le and costs. DRUNKENNE33, &C. I Edwin Pugh, Hafudybwch, was summoned by P.C. J llhn Diivies, for having been drunk and dis- orderly in High-street, on Thursday night week. Fined 5s and costs.—Kate Fisher was summoned by the same officer for having been drunk aud disorderly at the top of Yo: ke.atreet on the evening of the 19th. Fined 5s and c(.-stii. -Frances Jones, Farndon-street, was summoned by P.C. Pugh, with having been drunk in Holt-slieet on Saturday night week.-Fined as and costs. SO DDES TEMPTATION. -U Arthur JNorton, a rejpectable loosing young man was in custody, charged ou remand with having stolen 31 6J. Mis* Mary William", of the Con- fectionery and Refreshment Room?, 23, Yorke-street, said that at five o'clock on Tuesday evening f-he left the shop to go into the next room. Looking back she saw the pri oner leaning over the counter with bis hand in the till. Witness seized hold of him and found he had 3s 6d in his hand. A policeman was then eent for, and the prisoner was arrested.— Prisoner said he was a waiter, and was a native of London. He had been to Liverpool to try and get a -situation as steward on a boat, but had failed. He was out of a situation, and had walked 20 miles on Tuesday. He had no money when he came to Wrexham, and was overcome with the sudden temptation.—Committed for fourteen days with hard labor. LICENSING. I On the application of Mr Lloyd Jones, attendance I officer of the Wrexham School Board, a commitment was ordered to be fcaued against Ralph Fisher, in I respect of an unpaid fine TUESDAY.—Ik fere W. Prichard, E q. I _u ALLEGED THEFT OF GEAPES. I William Roberts, of Liverpool, was in custody on a charge of having stolen grapes valued at 30j from the vinery of Mr John Jonep, Grore-road, on Oc'.obor 2nd. The prisoner, who had hawked the grapes in Liverpool, had been arrested when Cuming from the gaol at Knutsford, where he had been confined for a crape robbery at Hoole. He was remanded until Monday. I WEDNESDAY.—Before S. T. Baugh, Eq.. John Bury, Esq., and E. M. Jonep, Esq. I A NICE PAIB. I George Wilson, .vho said he came from Lincashirr, was in custody, charged by P.C. Pugh with having been found lying drunk end incapable near the Wynn- stay Arms corner, at twelve o'clock on the previous day. Margaret Griffith, of Chester, was charged by P.C. Davies with having been found lying diunk and I incapable in College-street, at twelve o'clock on the I previous day.—Both prisoners were discharged on I promising to leave the town. AN IMPUDENT ROBBERY. I Matthew Whilan, Liverpool; William Hennesy, Preston; and Robert Davies, Llanidloes, were in custody, charged with having stolen two coats, valued 61114 and 8* 6i respectively, the property of Messrs Bradley, clothiers, Hope-street. Thomas John Conway, asaistant to Messrs Bradley, said on Saturday night he noticed Whilan loiterillg, about the shop. A coat was subsequently missed, atid 1, information was afterwards given to Mr Beirne, in I Charles-street. The coats produced he identified as his employers' property. ¡ Whilan said he stole one of the coats on Tuesday morning- Mr P. Beirne said he received information of the loss of the coat, and on Tuesday afternoon Hennessy brought a coat to be pawned. He aave information to the police. P.C. Pugh said the previous witness informed him of the robbery, and on going to Mr Beirne's shop found Hennessy there. Witness asked him where he got the coat from, and he said a man gave it to him. In his company witness arrested Whilan in Yorke- street. He admitted it, and both were taken to the lock-up. When there Whilan said there was another I coat which he had stolen and sold for Is 6j, but as he had only paid 6d he would "split" on him. He th-ri gave the name of Davies, who was arrested in hie! lodgings, Mount-street. Prisoner, when going to the lock-up, put on one of the stolen coat-, which be took I, from a nail behind the door. the prisoners were remanded until Monday.
