Annuities to and Arrangements with Cannock Mineral Railway Company and Dissolution of that Company; Deviation of Line of South Leicestershire Railway Com- pany conversion of shares or :stnek of Stour Valiey Railway Company Amendment of Acts) N OTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That application is intended to be nurie to Parliament in the next cession tor an Act for the following purposes, or some of them To enable the London and North Western Railway Company (hpreinaftir called "The Company") to construct and maintain (with stations, works, and conveniences connected theiewith) a rail-vay, to romuiencc by a junction with the London and Nmth Wet ttrn Railway, at one hundred and fifty yard?, or thereabouts, northward of the point where the slid last-mentioned Railway passes under the Leeds and Birstal Turnpike HOIl", otherwise Gelderd Road, in the tcwnidiip or chapelry of Beeston and parish of Leeds and to terminate at or near the Farnley Iron Works, in tb" township of Farnley, in The said parish of Luedd; which said intended Rail" ay will pass from, in, through, or into the several parishes, townships, and t'xtu paro- cillal Of other places foliowing, or some ot them ('hat ib to say) LeFd, Beastnn, Ilkeston Ituyds, Farnley, Wortley, and Lower WortUy, in the west riding of the county i-f York To authorise the Company to abandon so much of the line of Railway from Chelford to Knutsford, authorised IIY The London and North Western Railway (Cheshire Lines) Act, 1861," as lies between the turnpike road from Knutsfurd to Holmes Chaptl and the terminus of that Railway at Knutsford, and also that portion of the Railway authorised by the said Act which is therein de- scribed as a short line or spur to connect the sait Rail- way with the authorised line of the Cheshire Midland Railway, and to conillnct in lieu thereof a Railway commencing by a junction with the main line of the said Railway fromCheliord to Kautsford, at or near the said turnpike road leading from Knutsford to Holmes Chape), aud terminating by a junction with the Cheshire Mid- land Railway as authorised by The Cheshire Midland Railway Act, 18ft 1, near to and on the north-east side ot the House of Oorrtction, the whole of which Railway will be in the township and parish of Nether KnutsforJ, in the county of Chester To enable the Company and the Cheshire Midland Railway Company to erter into and and carry into effect contracts and a4- e?ments with reference to the construc- tion by the saiii Companies, or either of them, on the lands LOW or beieafter belonging to the faid Companies, or either of tliern, rit a station or stations at Kuu stur(I for the use of the two Companies jointly, or of utieb or Litl"er of the two Companies separately, and with n ference to the management, working, maintenance, and use of the said station or stations, or any of them, and the costs thereof, upon such terms and conditions, and for such rent or other consideration as may be mutually agreed upon between the two Companies, or as may be provided for under the said intended Act, and to confirm any agreement which mav have been entered into between the two Companies in relation to the matters aforesaid To empower the Conpany to make and maintain a aDolt line of Railway to connect the tstour Valley Rail- way with the Birmingham Canal, to comuunce near the west end of the Albion Station on that Railway, and to terminate near the basins al.d works now in course If construction by the Company of Proprietors ot the tiirm- iugham Cnn I Navigati- n, at a point atij cent to where the Birmingham Callal is cresstd by tha Albion towing- path b,idgl, aud on theouth-west side of the sii(I Canal; A.1 a is lnienued to exjend the several provisions here- ini ei.,n ititrreu io lospecUiij utiaugemtbts a„d asrw oI traldo ot er Rail* ways, 4LIl runuing powers, Or any powers, necessary 01 ILL- i Oidental thereto respectively, to any Railway or Under- taking or part thereof, leased to or worked by or in the oc- cupation of any of the said existing Companies, either se- parately or jointly with someother Company or Companies, and also to levy tolls, rates and duties in respect of paslon- gers and traffic conveyed over the before-mentioned Rail- ways, or parts of Railways, and it is intended to confer upon the said existing Companies, or some of them, the like or reciprocal privileges and powers in respect of the lines of Railway, stations, roads, platforms, water, watar- engioes, sidings, machinery, works, and conveniences of the Company, and levying of tolls, rates and duties, ia respect thereof. And whereas section 20 of the Oswestry, EUesmere, and Whitchurch Railway Act, 1861, is as fallows, The powers of this Act with respect to so much of the Rail- ways as lies west of the town of Ellesmere shau be sus- pended until the 1st day of September, 1862, and if an Act has then passed to authorise a deviation of the Rail- ways hereby authorised, or the making of a new Railway either by the Company or any other Company, in order to give continuous communication from EUesmere to Oawestry, Ruabon and Shrewsbury, avoiding as much aa possible residential damage, then the said powers shall cease, anddateriniae, provided always that any Bill which may be introduced for accomplishing the objects afore- said shall contain proper clauses for securing to any Com- pany, whose Railway shall communicate with the Rail- way of tll" Company, or the Railway or Railways pro- posed by such Bill such full facilities as may be necessary for the traffic of any such Company as aforesaid, parsing or intended to pa-is thereon, and on the line by this Act au- thorised or any part thereof." Now, notice is hereby further given, that it is intended to comprise in the piopose4 Bill, as intended to be de- posited as hereinafter mentioned, or during the progresel of the Bill through Parliament, all such powers and pro- visions as may be necessary for giving full effect to the said section and the said proviso thereto.
