The Univertal Remedy for Bad Legs, Bad Breasts, Old Wounds, and Ulcerations of all kinds. rpHERE is no medicinal preparation which may be so Tthoroughly relied upon in the treatment of the above ailments as Holloway's Ointment. Rubbed upon the sur- face of the body, over, or near the affected parts, it disap- pears under the friction of the hand, penetrating at once to the source of the evil, and thus perform its healing errand, rapidly, safely and without pain. In all long standing cases, Holloway's Pills should also be taken, as they purify the Blood and expel all depraved humours from the system. COUGHS, COLDS, SORE THROATS, AND BRONCHITIS. This Ointment is irresistible in the cure of these throat and pectoral complaints, which when neglected often end in settled asthma or consumption. The Ointment well rubbed upon the chest and back, night and morning, pene- trates the skin, and thus absorbed, is carried directly to the lungs, where, in immediate contact with the whole mass of circulating blood, it neutralizes or expels all im- purities. By these means all pulmonary complaints may be cured with rapidity and ease. DISORDERS OF THE KIDNEYS, STONE AND GRAVEL. In any of the above complaints more benefit may be de- rived in twenty-four hours, by adopting the following simple means, than could be brought about in six months by any other treatment. In bad cases, if the Ointment be diligently rubbed into the small of the back, over the re- gion of the kidneys, it will quickly penetrate and give im- mediate relief. Six or eight of the Pills should be taken nightly according to circumstances. GOUT, RHEUMATISM. AND STIFF JOINTS. This invaluable Ointment exercises a more obvious con- trol over Gout and Rheumatism, than any other medicine. No one need remain uncured, who will in good earnest make a vigorous application of this infallible remedy- according to the Printed Instructions affixed to each Pot. All settled aches and pains will likewise be banished by the same treatment. SKIN DISEASES, SCROFULA, AND SCURVY. The beneficial effects of this peerless Ointment are truly wonderful in cases of Ringworm, Scurvy, and Scrofula, or King's Evil, and its powers are adequate to the removal of the most inveterate Skin Disease to which the human frame is subject. Both the Ointment and Pills should be used in the fol- lowing co)nplaints.- Bad Legs Bad Breasts Burns Bunions Chilblains Chapped Hands Contracted and Stiff Joints Corns (Soft) Fistulas Gout Glandular Swellings Lumbago Piles Rheumatism Sore Nipples Scalds Sore Throats Skin Diseases Scurvy Sore Heads Tumours Ulcers Wounds The Ointment and Pills are sold at Professor HOLLO- WAY'S Establishment, 533, Oxford-street, London: also by nearly every respectable Vendor of Medicine throughout the Civilized World, in Boxes and Pots, at Is lid, 2s 9d' 4s 6d, lis, 22s, and 33s each. COAL AND IRON. I
COAL AND IRON. MIDDLESDOROUGH, Tuesday.—The pig iron market to-day was weaker, but there was little to justify this, as iron is exceedingly scarce, even in second hands, and vessels have in some cases to go from wharf to wharf unable to get iron. The bears were in great force to-day, and endeavoured to talk down prices, but were not particularly successful. Quotations, were, however, somewhat irregular, No. 3 ranging from 61s 6d to (J2s, vitli occasional parcels sold at less. The exports last month were enormous, 72,000 tons being despatched from this port, and yesterday there was the surprising quantity of 10,000 tons exported. The supply of railway trucks is miserably inadequate, and to-day representatives of the iron trade met the rail- way officials relative to reiiiedling this. Finisheci iron prices are slightly easier, some recently opened works being in want of work. WOLVERHAMPTON, Wednesd ay.-Specifi cations in fulfilment of old orders were less scarce than last week, and there were numerous offers to buy on terms which makers rejected. Best galvanised iron was strong; a transaction was reported at £ 24 for 26-wire gauge size in London. Hematites were weaker cer- tain Ulverston brands were offered at 26 free on trucks, which is a drop of 10s. The make of hematite pigs is increasing. A new brand smelted in Wales was offered to-day at kCi, and three similar furnaces are about to be started here.
I-AGRICULTURE.
I AGRICULTURE. THE CORN TRADK.—The Mark Lane Express says- "At this season the advance of a week brings a natural increase of the drying power of the atmos- phere, and on the high lands further progress is ren- dered possible with ploughing and sowing. Except in those localities w here the floods have been out, a good deal of ploughing has been done, and some quantity deal of p l oul, of spring corn has been sown. Winter wheat is be- ginning to show a thicker plant. The general aspect of the wheat trade has evinced a greater amount of confidence on the part of buyers, attended with a decidedly improving tendency in prices. With light shipments from America, and very small arrivals of foreign wheat in London, the prospect at Mark-lane was decidedly encouraging to holders on Monday last, when millers operated freely at an advance of Is per quarter, and, with many signs of returning confidence, a large business was done at the improvement. Should America continue to reserve her supplies at present prices, the conditions of a further and material ad- vance cannot be questioned. The imports into London down to Friday did not exceed 36,000 quarters. Maize on the spot has been very scarce, but prices for arri vals slightly declined."

RECKITT'S PARIS BLUE.—The marked superiority of this Laundry Blue over all others, and the quick appreciation of its merits by the Public has been attended by the usual result, viz. a flood of imitations: the merits of the latter mainly consists in the ingenuity exerted not simply in imitating the square shape, but making the general appearance of the wrappers resemble that of the genuine article. The Manufactures beg, therefore, to caution all buyers to see Reckitt s Paris Blue on each packet. 1334 VALUABLE DISCOVERY FOR THE HAIR.—If your hair is turning grey or white, or falling off, use The Mexican Hair Renewer," for it will positively restore in every case Grey or White hair to its original colour, without leaving the disagreeable smell of most Restorers." Depot, 493, Oxford-street London. in .HOLLOWAY'S OINTMENT AND PILLS.-As Spring approaches a most favorable opportunity offers for rectifying irregularities, removing impurities, and erasing blemishes which have 'arisen from the presence of matters forbade by winter from being transpired through the pores. This searching Oint- ment, well rubbed upon the skin, penetrates to the deeply-seated organs, upon which it exerts a most wholesome and beneficial influence. Well nigh all the indigestions give way to this simple treatment, aided by purifying and aperitive doses of Holloway's Pills, round each box of which plain instructions" are folded. Bilious disorders, loss of ar ,tite, fulness after eating, lassitude, gout, and rhe- tism may be effectively checked in their painful pro cess, and the seeds of long suffering eradicated by tb ■ remedies. CHILLS AND COUGHS DESTRUCTIVE TO YOUNG ANIMALS.—Day, Son, and Ilewitt's I I 'ed Drench and" Gaseous Fluid" are the stockbreeders' reliable remedies especially in damp or sleety weather, when chills, colds, and coughs, prove so suddenly fatal.- 22, Dorset-street, Baker-street, London, W. 266
