THE object of this Company, which is incorporated j_ by special Act of Parliament, is to construct and work the following Tramways :— 1.—A Tramway from Wrexham to Rhosllaner- chrugog, 3 miles and 15 chains in length. 2.-A Tramway from Wrexham to Broughton, at a point convenient for the inhabitants of Brymbo and Coedpoeth, 2 miles and 9 chains in length. 3.—A Branch Tramway to the bottom of Summer- hill, convenient for the inhabitants of Moss I and Summerhill, .1 mile and 3 chains in length. The tramways authorised to be constructed will traverse populous distiicts and connect Wrexham, the market town, with the important mineral districts surrounding it. There is no railway accommodation for passengers between Wrexham and lihos on the one side, and Brymbo, Coedpoeth, and the Moss on the other side, and the only means of locomotion at present existing is by stage carts, of which class of conveyance there are about 75 now engaged in carrying passengers between the districts before-mentioned and Wrexham. The population of the districts that will be ac- commodated by the tramways was 35,420 in 1S71, the date of the last census, and this population is rapidly iiicreasint, The tramway to Rhos will, in addition to accommo- dating the large passenger traffic between the Rhos and Wrexham, also accommodate the large population residing at Khostyllen and Brynyrowen, and the intermediate districts. Ihe tramways to Broughton and Summerhill will also pass through a thickly populated district between Wrexham and those districts, and will also connect the town of Wrexham with the railway stations. A statement of the number of passengers arriving in and departing from Wrexham to and from the districts that will be accommodated by the tramways has been carefully taken for twelve days, and during that time 6,958 vehicles passed through the respective turnpike gates between Wrexh;.m and the districts above men- tioned, carrying 23,!)U6 passengers and, in addition to that number, 35,790 passed through on foot; making the total number of passengers during the twelve days, 59,696. The number of passengers travelling on the roads which the tramways will traverse between the dis- tricts before mentioned and Wrexham, taking the number at 59,696 for twelve days, would be 1,587,070 per annum, exclusive of 52 Sundays. If the Tramways Company carry only 300,000 per- sons per annum, at an average fare of threepence, it will produce an income of zC3,750 and, after de- ductin • 65 per cent. for working expenses, will leave a net revenue of £ 1,312 10s., which will be more than sufficient to pay a Dividend of £10 per cent. on the ordinary capital of the Company. The fares at present charged for carrying passengers between the districts before mentioned and Wrexham average from fourpence to sixpence. In addition to a large passenger traffic, there exists a considerable traffic in general goods between Wrex- ham and the districts before mentioned, and the Com- pany's Act provides for carrying such traffic at re- munerative rates. The tramways have been so laid out mat tney can be very beneficially extended when the traffic becomes developed and their utility established. The traffic between Wrexham and the districts tra- versed by the tramways,. is what is generally termed a road side traffic, and such as a tramway car passing along the road at regular intervals is best calculated to accommodate and develop and it is, therefore im- possible to calculate what the ultimate returns will be with good and economical management. Tramways are now becoming generally adopted in populous districts, and the results hitherto have been eminently satisfactory", although the cost of construc- tion and equipment has been on the average nearly X3,000 per mile; whereas, the actual estimate for the tramways which this Company proposes to construct only amounts to £ 1,230 per mile. Great improvements have recently been effected in the construction and management of tramways, which the Company have had the means of benefitting by, and as they propose to contruct the works for cash, a great saving will be effected in that respect. The Act of Parliament was obtained without opposi- tion at a comparatively small cost, and the Company is not burthened with any preliminary expenses be- pond the expenses of the Act of Incorporation. This Company has deferred raising the necessary capital and constructing the tramways until the pre- sent time, owing to the high price of iron and other materials, and by the delay a saving will be effected of 40 per cent, in the price of iron, which is the chief item in the cost of construction. A third of the capital has already been subscribed bv the directors and their friends. I The Act of Incorporation may be inspected at the office of the solicitor to the Company. I Applications for shares may be made to the bankers in the accompanying form. Prospectuses, with forms i of :\1 plication for share-, can be obtained from the brokers, at the offices of the Company. 80G Public and Legal Notices. It gives to the hair a very dark appearance, and by its use light air is made to appeal many shades darker, and light red hair as- sumes a rich golden auburn tint. It speedily restores weak or thin hair, and causes it to grow with the most rapid luxuri- ance. It is invaluable to those who wear the hair curled, whilst to Volunteers who wish for a military appear- ance, it is particularly recommended.
