AN IMPORTANT TESTIMONIAL From G. Lewis, E,q., of the Oriental Bank, London, addressed to the Editor of this Paper. To the Editor of the Xoith Wales Chronicle.' "DKAK SIU,—I feel it my bounden duty to make known to my beloved countrymen, and the public ge- nerally, the great benefit I received from the celebrated Cambrian Pills, prepared by Robert Isaac Jones, Esq" Cambrian Pill Depot, Tre'madoc, prescribed by my old neighbour, the eminent Dr. Roberts, Oakland, Llan- rwst. whose immortal and ever-living name is endeared to all that knew him, and whose decease was the great- est calamity the surrounding country ever experienced, especially the. poor. I had been for years troubled with indigestion, and paid immense sums of money to different Doctors, and for different Pills, but I could never get anything to ren- der me the least benefit, until I heard of the celebrated Cambrian Bills, and determined to give them a trial and after taking a few boxes, I became strong and active, And as healthy as any man in the metropolis. I always keep these Pills in the house, for occasional use, and it is my decided opinion, that no family should be without them, lor they are the most excellent family medicine ever composed and offered to the public. I ihghly and conscientiously recommend the celebrated Cambrian Pills to the world at large, and give the highest credit to the praise-worthy gentleman, 1. Jones' Esq., for his unfatigued exertion, and good service in bringing ths is great desideratum before his countrymen and the world. I am quite at a loss for better means to place this im- perfect testimonial before the eyes of my beloved country- men, than through the medium of your widely and ex- tnsively circulated journal. I am, dear Sir,—Yours very respectfully, GRIFFITH LEWIS. Oriental Hank, London, August 12th, 1850. A TESTIMONIAL FROM A HIGHLY RESPECT- ABLE CHEMIST IN NORTH WALES, SII1,- Your Pills continue to command a good sale here, which is steadily on the increase. They are now a standard family medicine among most of our local gentry, and becoming an universal favourite as a corrective of those organs most frequently liable to derangements, and to which in particular you point attention. Apart from all motives or interest or a desire to please the proprietor, I have no hesitation in stating my candid avowal, that I consider your Pills as an Aperient and Antibilious pre- paration, far superior to any Patent Medicine with whosa merits I have been made acquainted, not excepting Cockle's justly celebrated compound, to whose merits as a preparation some of the most eminent of the professior. have made no scruples in bearing their testimony. To IIIr, H. 1. Jones. B. The press teems with volumes upon the science of mcdicine, and the professors of the art curative abound but it is rarely, even in these days, when intellect is on the march," that we find a really useful medical work. It is with no small gratification that we have perused the unpretending, but really truly valuable little volume, entitled" Control of the Passions," by Mr. J. A. Lewis. The awful consequences of depraved habits, eaily acquired, are set forth in language that mu,t come home with harrowing force to the parent and the victim. We regard this publication as one of a class that is most productive of benefit to humanity. The subjects, highly important and delicate, are treated in a style which at once exhibits the possession of great scientific knowledge, combined with the fidelity of truth, and we most cordially recommend it.—Conservative Journal. A MOST MIRACULOUS CURE OF BAD LEGS. AFTER 43 YEARS' SUFFERING. Extract of a Letter from Mr. William Galpill, of O, Saint Mary's Street, Weymouth, dated May 16ili, 1851. To Professor HOLLOWAY, Siii,-At the age of 13 my wife ( who is now 61) caught a violent cold, which settled in her legs, and ever since that lime they have been more or less sore, and greatly in- flamed. Her agonies were distracting, and for months to- gether she was deprived entirely of rest and sleep. Every remedy that medical men advised was tried, but without effect; her health suffered severely, and the state of her legs was terrible. I had often read your Advertisements, and advised her to try your Pills and Ointment and, as a last resource, after every other remedy had proved useless, she consented to do so, She commenced six week ago, and, strange to relate, is now in good health. Her legs arepain- less, without seam or scar, and her sleep sound and undistur- bed. Could you have witnessed the sufferings of my wife during the lost43 years, and contrast them with her present enjoyment of health, you would indeed feel delighted in having been therneansofoo greatly alleviating the sufferings of a fellow creature. (Signed) WILLIAM GALPI. A PERSON 70 YEARS OF AGE CURED OF A BAD LEG, OF THIRTY YEARS' STANDING. Copy of a Letter front Ilr. Wm. Abbs, Builrler of Gas Ovens of Rushcliffe, near Huddersfield, dated J/<zi/31sf, 1851. To Professor HOLLOWAN, SIR,-I suffered for a period of thirty years from a bad leg, the result of two or three different accidents at Gas Works; accompanied by scorbutic symptoms. I had re- course to a variety of medical advice, without deriving any benefit, and was even told that the leg must be amputated, yet, in opposition to that opinion, your Pills and Ointment have effected a complete cure in so short a time, that few who had not witnessed it would credit the fact. (Signed) WILLIAM ABBS. The truth of this statement can be verified by Mr. W. P. England, Chemist, 13, Market Street, Huddersfield. A DREADFUL BAD BREAST CURED IN ONE MONTH. Extract of a Letter from Mr. Frederick Turner, ofPenshursf, Kent, dated December 13th 1850. To Professor HOLLOWAY, DEAR SIR,—My wife had suffered from Bad Breasts for more than six months, and during the whole period had the best medical attendance, but all to no use. Having be- fore healed an awful wound in my own leg by your unrival- led medicine. I determined again to use your Pills and Ointment, and therefore gave them a trial in her case, and fortunate it was I did so. for in less than a month a perfect cure was effected, and the benefit that various other branches of my family have derived from their use is really astonishing. I now strong? recommend them to all mv friends. (Signed) FREDERICK TURNER A WONDERFUL CURE OF A DANGEROUS SWEL- LING OF THE KNEE. Copy of a Letter from John I-or far, an Agriculturist. residing at Sewborough, near Hexham, dated May loth 1850. To Professor HOLLOWAY. sut,—1 was afMictea with a swelling on tne eacn t.iau ut the leg, rather above the knee, for nearly two years, which increased to a great size. I had the advice of three eminent Surgeons here, and was an inmate of the Newcastle In- firmary for four weeks. After various modes of treatment had been tried, I was discharged as incurable. Having heard so much of your Pills and Ointment I determined to try them, and in less than a month I was completely cured. What is more remarkable I was engaged twelve hours a day in the Hay Harvest, and although I have followed my laborious occupation throughout the winter, I have had no return whatever of my complaint. (Signed) JOHN FORFAR. AX INFLAMMATION IN THE SIDE PERFECTLY CURED. Copy of a Letter from Jlr, Francis Arnot, ofBrealtouse Lothian Jload, K(Unbro\ dated April 2nth, 1S51.
