LLANDUDNO. I THOUGHTS ON A SATURDAY EVENING. I Beautiful rays at close of day Piercing the clouds, shooting away— Over the sea, and o'er you hill, Shine with pure light, all radiant still. Soft is the zephyr, spring comes on, Born with a rising, conquering sun Winter defeated, its snow's all gone, Summer fast coming, wished for long. Larks caroling high in the sky, Thrushes singing with sweet melody, Boys with their boats on liquid pool, All in harmony with the whole. Yon mountain smiles with verdure new, Green to the eye, its height all blue; Clouds all light, fleet swift along, The silver moon will shine anon. Tranquility is felt around, Save now and then a cheerful sound; The birds begin their vernal song, And the breeze wafts their voice along. Yon ships glide o'er the waters grecn, With sails well bent, their progress seen The sea is soothed, nor raves as yore, Long may it be, with shipwrecks o'er. The morrow is the day of rest, And of all days, by far the best; The spring of heaven with it is ours, Sweet is its time, though short its hours. The calm of eve with it agrees, The hope thereof, all christians pleme- 'Tis the delight of life beloiv, With it towards heaven pilgrims cro. 1362. gu X. V. I

THE VOLUNTPERB.-Throiigh the kind permission of W. F. Chapman, Esq., the Llandudno Volunteers can now boast of as good a Parade Ground as any of the Provincial Corps in the Kingdom. It is well adapted for all kind of Infantry movements, (judging distance) and I particularly for skirmishing; and we hope to see a good muster on the warren on Whit Monday, as we under- stand the 7th Carnarvonshire Rifle Company meet on that day for drill at Llandudno.
