THE SERIOUS CHARGK AGAINST A BRIGHTON SUROKON. Mr. Charles Robert Moon, against whom several serious charges had been made during the last few days, resulting in his being oomrniUdd for trial for wilful murder on one of them, was again placed in the dock before the borough magistrates of Brighton, on Tnesday morning, when Mr, Warner Sle,gh explained that the corporation had taken the matter np as a public duty, and were carrying on the prosecution at the expense of the public pnrse. The charge against the prisoner in the case of a girl named Jenner, an hotel still-room maid, who had absconded, together with another woman, against whom a warrant for selling and administering noxious drugs has been issued, was then proceeded with. The learned oouusel said he should be able to oomplete the case without the attendance of the girl Jenner, therefore he hoped what if a report of the proceedings caught her eye she would return, as there was not the slightest idea of taking proceedings against her. The evidence having been oompleted, Mr. Warner Sleigh asked the bench to commit prisoner for trial, adding that if the girl Jenner could be trial, the ?." might be supplemented by her direct f??dence at the trial. The depositions were then read over and the prisoner r?n w- fully committed for trial on the three charges, viz., of the wilful murder of the girlOckley, whose parente reside at Ryfleet, Surrey; ou another charge, in the oase of the girl Holland and on a third, in the case of the girl Jenner. The coro- ner a inquest on the body of Emily Ockley has been doeed by the jury returning a verdict of ?ilfat murder" against Moon and Darley, the 'h¡ the latter a:no;: aocessory before t:tb86Ttt MrMu impticated, a shop- keeper, haa not yet been apprehended, but the Vk7 ,?:r?r?? in hopes of soon being able to execute the warrant, when some more and startling reve- lations will, in all probability, be made.
