TO TUB Lords Lieutenants and Magistrates of Car- narvonshire and Anglesea. MY LORDS AND GENTLEMEN,—In a very short time you will be called upon to nominate a new subordinate functionary, to whom will be entrusted new duries of a most i oportant chiracter, which will involve great results to the landed interests. In soli- citing your votes at th- coming election of a High Constable for the Counties of Anglesea and Carnar- vonshire, I beg leave to state that I am known to most of you personally. I have for a long time discharged duties in the Metropolis, which would fit me for the office in question, being a Barrister of seven years standing, Graduate of Oxlord, a Lecturer for three years of the Chancery Reform Association, (which I formed in conjunction with the late Lord Erskine) Member of the Society for the Amendment of the Laws, and Secretary of the Victoria Code Associa- M. ;??, I also formed,) Author of Land and its Laws, an d other nc.m?-. T soeak and wr i te the Welsh language. I have a property interest in Anglesea and Carnar- vonshire to bind me to the soil. As property has its duties as well as its rights, I hope to discharge these duties more z-alotisly than an alien, or a person of no interest in trie tWO \ouuue8. It is true that at the last general election I contested the Borough of Wilton upon the Conservative interest, Still my earnest efforts in the cause of Law Reform will, I trust, show that I advocate judicious reform, when to the ].tic of Church and State. This, however, is no political question, but one, neverthe- less, of great importance to yourselves, namely, the conservation of the rule of action." Jaw, and order, in which your greatest in erests are involved. I have the honour to be, My Lords and Gentlemen, Your most faithful servant, J. G. J. GREENE. Llanddona, Anglesey. ANGLESEY 1JOKOUGHS. Moved by Mr. WILLIAM JONES, Corn Merchant, and seconded by Mr. GRIFFITH EVANS, Brewer, That this Meeting entertains the warmest esteem and regard for Lord GEORGE PAGET. the worthy Representative of the Anglesey Boroughs, and takes this opportunity of publicly tn" i,n;; his Lord- ship sincere congratulations on his sate return from the Crimean Camp-ign, where he so signally distin- guished himself in the honourable service which he 80 creditably adorns. 2. Moved by Mr. STEPHEN ROOSK, Certyris, and seconded by Mr. UWEN JONES, Tanner, That in the opinion of this Meeting the ab- ience of Lord GHOKGIS PAGET from his Parliamentary duties for a few months, when called upon to serve his country in the Crimea, during the late war, so far from diminishing the confidence reposed in him by the Electors of the Anglesey B roughs, only serves to increase and cement that confidence and render them proud in having as their Representative in Par- liament one who, at the call of duty, so nobly distin- guished himself in the honourable profession to which he belongs. 3. Moved by Mr. WILLIAM HUGHES, I)ruggist, and seconded by Mr. T. D. SALr.: BY M BANCH — — IMPORTANT SALE OF COLLIERIES^ Flintshire, North Wales. TO BE SOLD BY AUCTION, By Mr. BRANCH, On TUESDAY, 14tit October, li!5t», at two o'clock in the afternoon, at the HANOVER ROOMS, in Hanover Street, Liverpool, subject to conditions of sale to be then and there produced, by order of the Assignees of Messrs. Stratmn, Paul, and Bates, f 11 HE EVTIRE IXTEUES T of the said Assignees I of and in the unexpired residue of a LEASE, for forty years, commencing On the IVnth day of May. 1851), and granted by the Right H onourable Lord Mostyn, (then the Honourable Edward Mostyn Lloyd Mostyn,) as Tenant for Life, under a power to lr. Ja'iies Thomas Cookney (who was a Trustee thereof for the Bankrupts), and afterwards confirmed by the remainder-man, of all those very valuable COLLI E R- IES or COAL MINES known as "THE MOSTYN" COLLIERIES," sitnate in the Pari-h of Whit- ford and County of Flint, North Wales, and which are delineated or described on such parts of the Map or Plan hereunto affixed, as are colored yellow and blue, subject to the following Rent and Royalties, viz. clear yearly rent of One Thousand Five Hundred Pounds, and one Twelfth Part of the value of all Coal, Gunnel, and Slack raised, as sliould exceed the said sum of One Thousand Five Hundred Pounds; also, T ree Pence per ton of twenty-one cwt. for all Coal shipped at the Mostyn Quay, of the value of Eight Shillings and Four Pence per ton or upwards, and Two Pence per ton for all Coal of less value than Eight Shillings and Four Pence per ton also, subject to the various Provisions, Limitations, and Agreements contained in the said Lease. The Colliery is situated immediately on the margin of the River Dee, within a few yards of the Mostya Dock and Quays, on which Loading Stages are erected to afford the greatest facility for Loading Vessels. The Chester and Holyhead Railway runs over the Land, with which the Colliery has a direct communication, by means of a tram road and siding to the Mostya Station, which is in close proximity; the Property also opens upon the Chester and Holyhead Turnpike R,.arl. The Coltier is now being worked by means of two Shafts, one oj,cb is used exclusively for pumping water, and the other, which is about thirteen feet diameter, for drawing Coals on the latter are two Winding Engines, capable of raising 120.000 Ton per Annum from the level of the present Tunnels; this shaft is sunk to the depth of two hundred and fifty yards, from which Tunnels have been driven, as deli- neated in the accompanying Secion. The F eld of coal directly available to the present shafts is bounded on the East by the Great Upthrow, supposed to upheve the mines 130 yards nearer the surface, as proved by the workings of Messrs. Eyton on the adjoining property, on the South by Lord Fielding's Estate, and on the West by the fault which passes through the present Pits, and it is estimated that the quantity of Cual accessible by means of the Tunnels, and without requiring any additional ex- penditure, may be wssumed to be about 2,000,000 tons at a moderate calculation the produce of the miues for twenty years should not be less than 100,000 tons of Coal and Slack per annum, and there is very proba- bility that an extensive field of Coal exists on the upper side of the upthrow fault, which could be brought to the present pits by means of an extension of the Tunnels eastward. The Interest ot the Assignees in the highly valuable l' ngines, Machinery, and Plant, which are in efficient and good working order, will be iucluded in the p"r- chme. A'-o the Interest of the A-signees in a Mortga?ge Debt which, with the interest thereon, amounted on the 9th June, 1855, (the date of the Petition for Adju- dication) to £ 134,940 17s. Id. and the subsisting securities for the same. The debt is owinly by Lord i»i..«yn, a a was .-ectired by (amongst other things) an assignment ot his lite interest in the property. 1 he Debt and the Securities and the Lease are sub. ji ct v, two Mortgages respectively for £ 20,000 and 1; 25 000, created by the Bankrupts.
