CEORAL FESTIVAL AT CCLWYN BAY The annual two days' choral festival in oonneo- Can with the Calvinistic Methodists of the Vale of Conway began on Wednesday, when two meetings were held in the Public Hall, Oolwyri Bay. There fTJut a good attendance, and the masred choir. Dmnbtred nearly u, thousand voices. Mr David Jenkins, Mus. Bac., Aberystwyth, waa the con- ductor whilst the accompanist* were Miss Nellie Koberts and Misa Cyiihafal Jones, Oolwyn Bay. The afternoon president wtui the Rev. John Ed- wards. Colwyn Bay. Mr David Jenkins conducte(I with his usual skill, odd the singing throughout was of a high mtandard. Thjs was parlicubrly true of the rendering ot the hpnn tuno. "Llandinam," and the anthems, "Pan legmeirio fv nghalon" (Bradbury) and "Molwch yr A I ydd" (D. Jenkins). Tlw Rev. T. Gwynedd Roberts, Conway, ably presided at the evening meeting, when there was again a large attendance. The singing was marked W great fervour, one of the favourite tunes being "Belmont." An interesting item was the song "Qyda'r Iesu," sung by Mr Jenkins. The touch- ing words cont?u(xi in this song were composed by the poet-preacher, "Dyfed," and set to beautiful music, an arrangement of a Norwegian melody by Mr David -Jenkins. The secretary of the gvmanfa was the Rev. 0. Gaianydd Williams, Koewen, and Mr W. Williams acted as treu-urer.

Mr W. Bevsri, chairman of the CrUm District Council, presided, and Mr R. Conway oaoupicvl the vice-chair. The Chairman gave the loyal toasts, and Dr. Dalton fo:I,'wl'ci with the ecclesiastical And mini- terial toasts, t-) tlw latter of which the Rev. J. Morgan (rector), Rtv. J. G. Jones (ViOM of Llan- itos), Canon Mulligan, and the Itev. T. Raymond: Jlel;püllded. Dr. Parker submitted the toast of "The Army, Xavy, and Auxiliary Forces." to which Oolonel Dixon, Mr It. Belli*, and Dr. Kenxick Davies responded. The Chairma.il proposed the toast of the even- ing, "Our Guest." He said that when Mr Welis first went to Llandudno the Irink was only open twice a week, and he had been at the forefront in all ihe social and material advances mnoo by the tm'Ti since that time.
