The greatest portion of the land is in ahigh state of culti- vation has good depth of soil, and is excellently fenced. Petiprys, now purpused to be divided into three lots, is distant four miles from Pwllheli, and three miles and a half from Four Crosses, and is intersected by parish roads. The land lies well for cultivation, with but little waste, with excellent fences. An excellent trout stream from the eastern boundary. Several sites are beautifully adapted for villa residences, commanding as they do un- inteirapted views of the bay and mountain scenery. It abounds with hares, partridges, woodcocks, and suipes, the adjoining lands being strictly preserved. A portion of it is also nicely wooded. A slate vein of considerable extent runs through the property. Erw Wen lies on the eastern side of a romantic vale, within two miles of Llanllyfni, and from the railway station at Penygroes, and the same distance from the Llyfni Bridge on the Pwllheli Road. The land generally is of a superior character, and lies well for natural drain- age and other improvements. A large slate formation also exists here, and several satisfactory reports as to its value has been made upon it. Important Sale of a SLATE AND SLAB QUARRY with Machinery, Plant, Tramway, &c, and a quantity of Slabs, at Penuiachno, Carnarvonshire. To be Sold by Auction, by 1jlV/JIL R. W. DEW, on Saturday, the 31st day III of August, 1867, at 3 o'clock p.m., at the Queen Hotel, Chester. The Hafodwryd Slate and Slab Quarry, with Ma- chinery, Plant, Tramway, &c., situate a*. Penuiachno, Carnarvonshire, and distant four miles from the Bettws- y-Coed station of the Loudon and North Western Rail- way. The surface contains 415A. 2n. 13P., and from reports made by several gentlemen of undoubted experience and ability the slate formation underlies the whole of it. It is held on a lease for a term of 21 years from the 24th March, 1860, with power to renew for a like term on payment of the sum of £ 300. The royalty is moderate, being l-15th, and the dead rents are as fol- low :— £ 10 per annum for the first five years (now ex- pired), i 20 per annum for the second five years, t30 per annum for the third five years, and X.50 per annum for the last six years, such Dead Rents to merge in the Royalty. The Quarry has been partially opened and worked, nroilucing slabs of good size, and very suitalle for all purposes, but owing to inadequate capital, the Local Company were unable to carry out fully the intention of developing it. The Llanrwst Branch of the' London and North Western liaihvay is now extended to Bettws-y-Coed four miles from Penuiachno, and the same Company have made a survey from Bettws through the estate, and within 200 yards of the quarry. There is ample water- power and it is I elieved that ,t motlei ale capital would suffice for developing a large and profitable quarry. The estate has upon it an excellent Mansion beauti- fully situated, and this. together with shooting and fish- ing, could be arranged for on easy terms (the present owner not residing there) affording an oportumty sel- dom met with of combining business and pleasure. The Plant and Machinery consists of Water-wheel lti feet dia- meter, two saws and one Planing Machine, a large quan- tity of Tram Rails, Iron Waggons, &c.
