TOOTHACHE arises from various causes, but the most common kind is that where the enamel and bony sub. 1 stance is decayed and exposes the nerve, which is then liable to be attacked by cold, or injured through coming in contact with some foreign substance, and in such cases BU.N'TEB'S NERVINE will give instant relief. I LLANDUDNO. THE TURKISH BATHS.—It is rumoured that these use ful baths are likely to be closed, and that the Company is about to be broken up. We should regret were this resolve to be carried out, inasmuch as by reason of the Old Baths being not used, there would then be no baths of any kind to be had iu the town during the winter months, neither Turkish, salt water, nor any other. We are given to understand that many of the inhabitants are willing and anxious to become subscribers, so that the Baths may not be closed, as they are a great attraction to the place. We do not see why Baths such as these, should not be made to pay if properly managed, and especially in a professedly large bathing town as is Llan- So Lt we do not think that charging too high is calculated to produce that result; and it is quite possi- ble ?t a reduction in the tariff scale would i^re^ethe ?ross receipts. At any rate we sincerely trust that Scans will be found to prevent the Baths from being closed ?T?o-8 CHURCHYARD-We have been requested to call attention to the present condition of this Church- yard, which is situated, as most of our readers must know, on the top of the Great Orme Mountain. For some time past all the burials have bien there, for Bani- in extent, and now it is so full tbat an enlargement of it is absohitely necessar'. There has been some talk of erectinga Cemetery^for theTown, Common- ers ha ve obtained the necessary powers to make one; of the present cnurcnyara, and which could b d?ne eIther by the Pa- rishionem or the Town CommIsSIOners. For decency sake the matter should be looked to at once and as the alrea(iv empowered to make a ceme- ? ?yTd?t? Xtr should not extend the pre. sent area of the Church-yard. Chapman's observa. ??1?"'B?????? Chapman, cbaeira- tions at the last meeting of the Comm?oM.o,onthe subject of bread-selling-has, we are inf ,rill ed, already borne fruit- but fruit, we are afraid of a somewhat doubtful quality. Mr. Chapman comi 1 lined that there was no protection to the purchaser in buying bread, as in some shops a 31b. loaf was sold for sixpence, and in another a 41b. tott for jv.li'ie sum. To simplify the Matter, and to take away all grounds for fault finding, the bakers, we are told, have agreed to sell their bread by weight only; and likewise that the present pr'ce is to be two-pence per pound! We think this is a very ques- tionable benefit" to the public, for now there will be no 41b. loaves for sixpence, and the three-pounders will have carried the day. Can any of our correspondents favour us with a few statistics on this subject—for instance, can they state how many shilling loaves can be ordinarily produced out of a sack of flour-each loaf of bread to weigh 61bs. and no more nor less. We know the value of a sack of flour, and we believe that a pound of flour will produce I-vtlbs. of bread; and so then we shall be enabled to arrive at the gain per sack to the Baker. For ourselves, we believe they must ne.t at present some 50 per cent upon their outlay. LLANDUDNO LOCAL EISTFDDFOD.-This Annual Eis- teddfod is to be held on the 1st of January next (New Year's Day), and from what we have learned, it promises to be one of the most successful which has hitherto taken place. Up to the present time, 150 compositions, of all kinds, have been received by the Secretary Mr Jones, Cheltenham House, so that the adjudicators will have a busy time of it. It is clear that Welsh literature is rapidly reviving in all parts of North Wales. THE GAS IN LLANDUDNO. -There has been consider- able agitation in Llandudno on the subject of the gas during the past few weeks, as the inhabitants complain of its high price. The price of coal in the town is from 16s. to 17s. per ton, and the charge for 1000 cubic feet of gas was 8s. 4d., which was considered too high; and, in consequence, a number of the principal tradesmen sent a memorial to the Gas Directors asking for a reduc- tion. At a meeting of the Directors held last week, the subject of the memorial was discussed, when it was decided to make the following reductions :-persons con- suming 5,090 cubic feet and under, per quarter, to pay 7s. 6d. per thousand; above 5,000 feet and under 15,000 feet, per quarter, 7s. Id. per thousand. Above 15,000 feet, 6s. 8d. per thousand. It was likewise decided that those parties who paid their account seven days after it is rendered, shall receive 5 per cent. back. Some ex- press themsel ves satisfied with this reduction, whilst others remain dissatified. The latter section propose to hold a meeting to discuss the matter, c.t. the Alexandra Hotel, on Wednesday evening, the 29th inst.
