CORWEN. Mr Walter Hay, director of the Shrewsbury Phil- harmonic Society, gave a concert at the National School- room, on Saturday, the 25th ult. The programme in- eluded the overtures to "Zampa" and "Masanielto," and a grand selection from Verdi's 11 Trovatore," with so- los for violin, Bute, cornet, pianoforte, harp, harmonium, and chorus. Principal vocalists, inliss Emma Lloyd and Mr. Stephen Gough. Several of the songs were warmly I encored, especially the humorous one, The Mocking liird," sung by Miss Emma Lloyd. The meeting was well attended, and the parties present were highly en- tertained.
