IThe food supply of to-day…
The food supply of to-day Food to-day is not equal in nourish- mentt to what people were accustomed to in pre-war days. The amount of sugar and fat allowed ie seriously cut down. Animal fat in the form of butter ie prae- Wently, onobtainable. Yet without these two very essential articles no one can keep perfectly fit and healthy. Every- body in Mkttd to do A.l work on a C.3 diet. It is not therefore to be wondered at that so many complain of ffeeling tia-ed depressed. worried, and nervy. The bor- deiland belLween health and eieknees is very fine. It requires but little to tip the scale, with eerious illness to follow thfe run-down feeling. There is one food product tfet will prove of immense value daring the pre- sent trying monthe-Chynwl-the Food ¡ that Builds. This is a concentrated food J substance made of pure malt sugar, ani- rnal fat, and red bone marrow, prepared in ?uch a way &s to be easily and oom- I pletely digested. Moreover, it helps You zo digest other food and so get the best! nouTishment out of it. j Chymol makes good the iwufficiency of ¡ animal fat and sugar in the daily food. It j1 } alao givei rich bood and mufccle forming j material from the red bone marrow j which it contains. Doctors recommend Chymol as a body builder, in faot they themselves take it. An Army Doctor has written:— You can consider it sincere testi- j mony when I tell you that I have I noteti a very gratifying improvement I in my general health since taking Chymol. I abaU oerMunly lecommem1 it to my patents." j Chymol contains no flavour'ng matter. ¡ its own natural taste M so pleasaat that everyone likes ii. Children love it ano. j want more, whilst the mco-;t fastidious n- i valids will take Chymol when they tUrD againet malt esrracts and cod liver oil. Get the Chymol habit, buy a bottle to- day from your chemist, and take it regularly according to the directions en- closed. You wiil soon feel the benefit in im proved vigour ajid health. All Chemists supply Chymol in glass j jara at 1. Cd. and M. 3d. Tlie larger' size contains four times as much as tb(-- 'jsunallftr. ENGLISH SIDES. Visitors to Swansea PORTSMOUTH AND LEICESTER. f I TO-MORROW'S-PR,INCI-PAL GAMES. Rugby. Swansea v. Leicester. Bridgend v. Llanelly. Glyn-Neath v. Ammanford. Aberavon v. Pontypridd. Gowerton v. Swansea II. Neath v. Ilesolven. Association. Swansea v. Portsmouth. Horheld (Bristol) v. Swansea Reserves. (By" PENDRAGON.") Once again two important Swansea. fixtures will clash, for while Portsmouth will be at the Vetch Field in quest of Southern League points, Leicester, one of the strongest Rugby sides playing the game in England, will be the guests of the All Whites. Portsmouth are second in the Southern League list, being only ono point behind Queen's Park Rangers, so that the Swans will be taking on a big proposition. The All Whites, on the other hand, should be surer of win- ning, for, the Tigers have lost to both Llanelly and Newport on their own ground.. These teams happen to be the only two to have beaten Swansea, but; drawing a line through form, we filict that the All Whites have improved everywhere save in the three-quarter line, and further that no English team hav > beaten Swansea at home for over years. When Swansea played at Leicester in 1913 they lost by 6 points to 3. At St. Helen's on January 31st, 1914, however, they turned the tables ou the Tigers to the tune of 13 points to nil. SWANSEA'S WEAK SPOT. I must confess to having misgivings with regard to the Swansea three- quarter line. Last week we were let down badly by Rowlands on the left wing, but for some reason T. Thomas wj/3 made the scapegoat. Thomas shaped well whenever he got the chance, where- as Rowlands' failure on defence would have let Newport in at least three times had not Joe Ilees come to the rescue. Rowlands may do better-I sincerely hope- that he will—but for the present I think he would serve the club better in the Seconds. The new man Lqinahan is a product of schoolboy football. He has been snoken of as being small, but while he is short be nevertheless weighs lOst. 61b., which is JIlore than Willie"Arnold or "The Bullet" ever scaled. Leices- ter, true to their reputation, will be bringing a strong pack of forwards here; but the Swansea eight, on their showing at Newport, should be able to control the scrummages. Ben Beynon will have to do less kicking, otherwise there will be an absence of scientific back play—on the Swansea side at all events. I ■ ■ I SWANSEA AND DISTRICT RUGBY LEAGUE. The Welsh Rugby Union on Thursday considered the case of the Abertillery Club, who were reported for playing a match with Penylan during the c se season—on August 30th of this year. The matter had previously been before the Guion, who called for a balance-sheet relating to the game, and which was presented last evening. The Union fined the Abertillery Club £10 and ordered that the fine should be paid to the local cottage hospital. I A REFEREE'S RULING. I A matter of importance which particu- larly affected the Blaenavon Club was dealt with. Mr. Herbert Davies (the rolerce) reported the Blaenavon players for their conduct in the Blaenavon v. Ynysddu match, stating that the Biaen- avon team took a strong *attitude in re- gard to one of his rulings. A goal-kick, following a try, had been taken, and the ball passed over the cross-bar, and then came bn?k into the field of play "He (Mr. as the result of the wind catching it. He (Mi'. Davies) had no doubt as to what actu- ally occurred, and awarded a goal, whereupon the Blaenavon players de- clined to restart the game. He there- upon blew his whistle and ended the game. The Union decided to suspend the whole of the Blaenavon team for a week, so that they will be unable to ful- fil their ifxture for next Saturday. ONE OF THE SUSPENDED. I George Johns, of Treorchy, one of the suspended in connection with the now famous Treorchy match, attended before the Union, and satisfied the members that he had no knowledge that he was playing with Northern Union players on that occasion, and his suspension was therefore removed. Permission was given to the Risca Club to play a charity match on behalf of E. Shmner, who lost his two feet in I tho war. I WELSH LEAGUE FINES. I A meeting of the Welah League WAS held on Thursday evening. Mr. B. Watts Jones, Swansea, presided. Arising out of a previous decision of the League to. fine the Barry Club S3 5s. for a breach of the rules in not fielding their full strengch in a match at Oorth, the Barry Club's appeal was not entertained. The club. however, gave notice that they intended to carry their appeal to the Appeals Committee. Mardy oomplained Î that Mid-Rhondda had fielded a weak team in their Welsh League match at Mardy. They alleged that only one recognised First League player was included in tlie team, though the full side turned out on the following Saturday in a cup-tie against Cardiff Corinthians. Mr. Haydn Price attended, and stnted that the club bad no reserve team, and that during that week he had a number of his players crocked through minor injuries. Mid-Rhondda were fined £10 10s. Delay in payment of fees caused the Management Committee to take action with regard to Porth and Caerphilly, the former being ordered to pay by Monday next and the latter by November 24th. Consequent upon a complaint brought ITi-i,.ih 1 Jones, who had charge of their match against Aberaman, representatives of the Management Committee were instructed to visit a subsequent match at Ponty- pTidd at which the same referee oniciated They reported that he had proved com- petent, and Pontypridd now withdrew I their charge, REFERRED BACK. I Question of Municipal Ath- letic Ground fo? Neath. j I The que«tion of a municipal atMetic ground was discussed at a meeting of the Neath Urban Council held on Thurs- day morning, tliei*.itavo- (Ald. Tno. Rees, J.P.), presiding. The Committee recom- mended that the interest of the Gnoll Park ground be given to a committee, consisting of five members of the Council, nine representatives ef the football elub. two from the cricket club, and one each from the howls, hockey and tennis clubs. Ald. Charles asked what the powers of the committee would he Councillor Trick said that the Council had been negotiating for the last eix months with certain sections of c-pnrt in the town. and it was recommended nt The last meeting that the ,control of the ground be handed over to a committee, as re-eorumende.-l above. The various sections of sport would be, responsible for Z250 rent, and the remain- der would be paid by the Council. It was suggested that the football club should pay £lSQ, cricket club 1:-40, bowi-s 1 £ 30, tennis £20, and hockey £ 10. Aid. Charles eventually moved that the matter be referred back, as he thought the Council should have a majority in j I the representation on the controlling committee. I Councillor Trick, agreed to this, ani [ the matter was referred back.
