— I WELSH SCHOOLS SHIELD. 1 Barry and Swansea Draw Again. I l'iio sporting pubhc of Aberdare were given another rleiightful exhibition of schoolboy football on Saturday evening when Barry nncl Swansea again en- deavoured to settle the fight for posses- sion of (life W elsh Schools' Shield. Swan- sea made one change in their team— Howells, the Hafod centre-forward, tak- ing the place of Furaival as the town pivot. In the first hrjlf Swansea were" all over" their opponents and were de- cidedly unlucky in front of goal. The only score was registered hy Bradley from a foul for tripping. Sullivan and George shot hard and often, but with- out result, Thomas cleverly saving on j several occasions. In the second moiety Barry, playing down the slope, did bet- ter. Tile Whites defendotf cleverly, and n, run by Squire saw Sullivan accept a perfect pass and m iss by incites. Barry were awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area and Price equalised. I Extra time was played but no score was- registered. The S? ansea lads aH I.Yed wil. but Bradley was in great Arm- I the best lad on the field. One can safely say that the local lads have had the hardest of luck-on both j oc?a?ionF, they hare deserved 10 win. Another effort to gain a tangible result wil) be made again next Satmda y, A 1)(>1'-1 dare a?ain bein? selected the venue. The Swansea team will be chpsen on! j Tuesday night. )

The St. John's Church Athletic Club opened their cricket reason on Saturday when they met an eleven representing Cilfrew on the home cricket ground. BOXING. I Pugh, Rogers and Brace Lose at I Caerphilly. I Chris. Langden (Ystalyfera) was to j have met Youcg Bassett (Llanbradach) at Caerphilly, on Saturday night in a fifteen I round content for the bantam-weight championship of WTales, but both were-in- disposed, and the meeting was postponed. The chief attraction, however, was a fifteen-round bout between Walter Rossi (Pontypridd) and Mog PllJth (Aberaron). The contest, only lasted five rounds, during which Rossi held a marked superi- ority, and inflicted a great deal of punish- ment upon his opponent. The Pontypridd lad fought with store determination, he I (lid practically aU the ecoring, and Pug-It j who gave a plucky show under the cir- cnmftanc?s, retired at the end of the fifth session. The Mnte&t betwn Young Vincent (Abertridwr) and Young Rogers (Swan- sea) revealed some fine boxing, Vincent winning in the seventh round. It vras a scheduled ten-round affair .but though Rogers held a marked superiority. in weight, he was hopelessly outclassed, and was down for eight in the second round, and Vincent fought magnificently. Johnny Morgan (Caerphilly) knocked out Young Brace (Ystradgynlais) in the round of a ten-round conteet. (x, S. ,R,
