In the West Glamorgan branch during the same month ten cases were dealt with, affecting 34 children. The local office of the Society is situated at 1, Glen View- terrace, Aberavon. Captain the Rev. James Evans, late of Aberavon, now of Cardiff, and Major Jack Edwards, M.P., were together in the House of Commons on Monday talking over old times with the 38th Division, in which Mr. Evans is now the only one who served continuously for three and a half years. Mr. C. T. Cramp, president of the X.U.R., was the principal speaker at a ihass meeting of Port Talbot railwayman on Sunday, presided over by Mr. T. Ileatley. A resolution was passed calling upon all organised railwaymen to consoli- date their forces, and impressing upon the Government the necessity of national- "sing the means of transport. The re- solution was proposed by Mr. W. T. Phillipp. and seconded by Mr. E. Heycock, and supported by Mr. Cramp. Miss Williams, Ystalyfera, spoke on the Edu- cation Act. CROSS HANDS. I I Un at. Davies, Dunvant, presided. A number of hymns and an anthem were sung from the festival pro- gramme upder the leadership of Mr. C. Evans. A solo was also rendered by Mr. L. D. BRYMAROMAN, St. David's Day was celebrated at Bryn- amman with a splendid concert and lec- ture at Gibea, Brynamman. There was a good audience, presided over by the Rev. W. D. Thomas. Mr. Ted Morgan, A.L.C.M., accompanied. The artistes were: Miss Mair Jones, Carmarthen (National winner); Mr. Harry Roberts, Gorseinon; Mr. John Roberts, Glanam- man. Mr. Roland Thomas, M.A., Brecon, gave a most scholarly lecture on the sub- ject: What about St. David's Day ? The event was under the auspices of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Committee. A concert was held at Banwen Schools, when Welsh airs and recitations were the order of the day. The leek was very much in evidence ,and many of the school- children were about in Welsh costume. The period was more generally recog- nised than has been the case for years. There are two qandidates for the County Council seat (Carmarthen) in the field, viz., Messrs. Gomer Harries (Lib.) and Griff Williams (Labour). The elec- tion takes place on Saturday next. The Brynamman Male Choir was called together on Sunday afternoon. This is another sign that the spirit of song is again reviving. GORSEINON. Reserved seats for the Great National Eisteddfod Drama at the Brighton Hall. on Wednesday evening. can be booked with Mr W. Many of the songs described by him were sung by Misses Katie Hoskins Dunvant, and Katie Bowen, Penllergaer, and Mr. J. Walters, R.A.M.. Gowerton. T?he chair was taken by Rev. L Richards, and short addresses were given by Rev. J. Brenni Davies, B.A., B.D., and "Dewi Samlet." The accompaniments were played by Mr. Madog Rees and Mr. R. R. Griffiths, B.A., the secretary of the society. All- roads lead to Brighton Hall, Gorse- inon. on Wednesday evening to see the Great N"ational Eisteddfod Drama Maesy- mellion.
