THE GUARDIANS of this Union invite JL applications for the Appointment of Master and Matron of the Workhouse at Llanrwst. Applicants must be man and wife, between the ages of 21 and 40 years, and be conversant with the Welsh language and preference will be given to those without children dependent upon them. The salary of the Master will be X40 per annum, and that of the Matron £20 per annum, with rations, apartments, and washing in the Workhouse. The appointment will be subject to the approval of the Local Government Board, and to the provisions of the Poor Law Officers' Superannuation Act, 1896, the annual value of the emoluments for the purposes of the Act being fixed at zC25 per annum for each officer. The Master must be fully competent to keep the Books and Accounts, and perform all the duties required by the Orders of the Local Government Beard and the Matron must also be able to efficiently discharge the duties required of her, and to superintend all the domestic arrangements of the Workhouse. The Master will be required to give security in the sum of £ 200 for the due and faithful performance of his duties, and the persons appointed must be prepared to enter upon their duties on the 26th March next. Applications in candidates' own hand- writing, stating their ages, and occupations, accompanied by three recent tastimonials as to character, abilities, and general fitness to execute the duties of their offices, and endorsed on the outside cover '• Master and Matron must reach me by Monday, the 26th instant, and selected candidates will have notice to attend. x Canvassing the Guardians is strictly pro- hibited. Meat, Flour, Ready Made Bread, Oatmeal, Potatoes, Peas, Rice, Butter, Tea, Sugar, Salt, Milk, Vinegar, Pepper, and otner Provisions ana Groceries, to be delivered at the Workhouse, in the said Union, in such quantities, and at such times as the Guardians shall appoint, are requested to deliver Sealed Tenders (with Samples of such Articles as can be given, the Price only to be marked on each Sample separately) to me, at my Office, in the said Workhouse, on or before 11 o'clock, on the morning of the 12th day of March next. Security to be given (if required) for the due performance of the Contracts. It is competent for any Person to Tender for any of the Articles separately. It is requested that only the Price of the Aiticle (without a distinguishingname) should be marked on each Sample sent in,' and that the Tender be attached to the Sample Parcel (iP any).
