PEARL LIFE ASSURANCE CO., JL LIMITED. ANNUAL REPORT For the Year ending December 31st, 1904. Presented at the Forty-first Annual General Meeting, held at the Offices of the Company, London Bridge, City, EC., Friday, February 17th, 1905. The Directors have pleasure in presenting the Report and Statement of Accounts for the past year, and in oalling the attention of the Share- holders to the very satisfactory advance made in the Company's business. Although the year has been one in which great depression in trade has obtained, the progress made still calls for congratulation. During the last three years the income has increased by 2376,380, being at the rate of nearly 38 per cent., and in the same period the Assets have increased by £ 998,632, or by 69 per cent. The following figures shew the respective advances made:- INCOME. Moore, Esq., who reports a surplus of £538 8!); after providing for all liabilities. INCOME. —The Total Income for the year amounted to £ 1,382,368. 0s. 9d., being an increase of 297,489. 12s. 5d. over that of the previous year. This includes £ 195.878. 18s. 2d., income in the Ordinary I Blanch, which is £ 20,286. ÕS. Od. greater than the previous year. The number of Policies issued during the year in this branch was 11,401, assuring I the sum of 9939,564. Os. Od., and producing a Now I Annual Premium Income of 238,933. lis. 7d. It I has to be borne in mind that in the past year 52 weeks' premium INCOME was received against 53 weeks in the previous year. PREMIUMS (DECEMBER, 1904).—The new Policies issued during the year number 1,278,740 and the Premium Income on the Policies in force on the Company's books now amounts to 1'1,433,624. 9s. 7d. CKAIMS.—The Company has paid 63,879 Life Claims, Grants and Matured Endowments during the year, amounting with Bonuses, to £ 435,847. 4s. 10d., which, added to the sums previously paid in claims since the establishment of the Company, make a total of £1.26J,282. 3s. Id. ACCUMULATED FUNDS.-The total funds, with Capital paid up, now amount to £ 2,428,414. 12s. 8d., showing an increase for the year of k361,935 4s. 10d.
