National Farmers' Union. I ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR I WALES. The fust meeting of the recently formed il Advisory Committee for Wales in connection! wiih the National Farmers' Union was held at Shrewsbury on Friday. Almost every county branch in Wales was represented. Mr. Wxii. Edwards, Anglesey, was elected chairman, Mr. J. 1.1. WilliahiB, Denbigh, secretary, and Mr. J. M. Phillips, North Pembroke, treasurer for the remainder of the yoar. The question of the Oswestry and Border C^ ounties Branch, one of the oldest and strong- est brarches in Wales, was considered. The iiuttouai Farmers' Union requires all local branches to be connectedi with a county branch, but the Oswestry branch draws its i membership from the four counties of Shrop- shire, Montgomeryshire, Denbighshire, and Flintshire, and it was felt that there was a difficulty in joining any particular county branch. After discussion, it was decided to reeommenrj that the Oswestry and Border Counties Brandh. should be recognised as a county branch, and so become entitled, to re- presentation on the General Committee, Steps were taken to organise county branches in those counties which contain a j number of local branches. A strong resolution was unanimously pass.ed warning the Government of the danger of inking away any more men from the land. It was stated that hundreds ef acres of crops bad tfec spoiled this year because of the 1 scarcity of labour to harvest them when the l wcither allowed. This resolution will be sent to Lord Treowen and the Ministry of National Service. It was reported that a large number of • people, both farmers and workmen, were T.ot able to appreciate the Orders of the Wages j Bourd, and the Board were asked to publish I a simple explanation of the Orders and dis- tribui-j it throughout the counties. i A resolution was passed to ask the National Farmers' Union for a revision of the capit- ..ation grant, and a deputation was appointed to support the resolution in London. HX: meeting will be held at tJan-, d.rindoil Wells in January,
