Wini- fred's School took placo on Wednesday, the proceed;! being divided between the IJuts for Sailors' Fund and tho Blue Cross Fund. The former fund owes its inception to Sir John Je'lico, and its object is to provide huts in cer- tain and remo-o spots for sadors whoae ship3 are torpedoed, and Ji; is hoped to raiao S2400 for the object. Ho left, for Africa four months ago. His parents receivod a letter from him on Sunday stating that he was well, bUt on Tues- day the War Office notification arrived that he had died. Twenty-three flannel vests to men from the Khassia Mission (India), now labouring in France, and 100 pairs of socks, 30 mufflers, 26 flannel shires were sent to the Director-General of Voluntary Organisation, and despatched direct to France. The War Savings Association connected with the Guild has proved very successiul, under the joint secretaryship of Mrs Grierson for Upper Bangor and Airs Tom for Garth. There are now 107 members making regular war savings contributions. Though t.iio Garth branch only opened as a collecting centre at tho end of Oc- tober, there are already 36 on the books, 27 of whom aro new contributors.
