TRIMSARAN. We wish to cnigratuliie Mr. Daniel Francis on his promotion as a. mechanic for Trim- sa-an Collie, v. Doubtless, he will prove him- self a most useful man at the colliery in the mechanical line, with the experience he has already gained. ) -0- The committee of the Public Hall met on the 25th ult., under the presidency of Mr. T. E. Davies, when the question of ways and means was considered. A deputation, consist- ing of Councillor D. Bunnell, Mr. T. E. Davies, Mr. Thomas Williams, was also ap- pointed to wait upon Mr. Graham as to land for building the new hall. Welsh people are very enterprising, and to their credit it may be said that so many places of worship have been built. So, with the co-operation of all denominations, a hall can easily be cree tcd. We are very pleased to see that Mr. John his serious illness. Owen, Waunffynon Farm, has recovered from -0- Mrs. Lloyd, wife of Mr. Thomas Lloyd, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Monday, leaving a husband and children to mourn their loss after her. We wish to extend our profound sympathy to the, family. -0- We are very glad (hat our popular doctor is progressing favourably from the eflects of the accident he sustained a few weeks ago. -0- The poultry meeting was held last Monday to arrange lor the Horticultural and Poultry Show in August. The fair will be. held as usual, on the first "Monday in July. At Llandilo, on the 26th ult., the County Council met, when Mr W. B. Jones supported the resolution passed at Trimsaran respecting the irregularities in connection with electing parish councillors. However, the majority voted against the resolution. Cofier, "Trccli gwlad nac arglwydd." Moreover, I was unable to speak on the matter, although I knew all about the affair. I therefore trust you will vote in my favour on Tuesday next, so as to enable me to speak in a clear and distinct voice for you at the I County Council. T. E. D.
