I WILL CONFESS ALL." THEFT FROM THE WORKHOUSE. At the Police Court on Friday, James Car- roll, labourer, an inmate of the Workhouse, was charged with stealing a sovran from a bedroom in the Workhouse, the property of Martha Ann Davies, one of the nurses. P.S. Britton deposed that the defendant, in reply to the chairge, said, Iii will say no- thing." Defendant was remanded until Monday. The defendant was brough up on Mondav before Messrs. R. H. Sampson and Frank Nevill. Defendant., in pleading guilty, said that he had never been in court before. He subrnt- ted testimonials as to his character from his last employer. Mr Sampson said the bench would deal with the defendant under the First Offenders A cL and bind him over for twelve months." i
