HIGHWAYMEN OF TO-DAY. I Frand Day, fishmonger, and Arthur Renvoizel dealer, were on Saturday, at the Central Crimina Court, sentenced to five years' penal servitude j Frederick Taylor, tailor, and Robert Woolbright, fitter, to four years' penal servitude; and John Jaeger, bootmaker, to 12 months' imprisonment with hard labour, for stealing and receiving a quantity of leather and other property of a total value of over 9800. The robberies were of an impudent character, some of the prisoners, on specious pretexts, inducing carmen to leave their loaded vans unattended, which were then driven off by others of the prisoners, and the property was disposed of.
