J. Volander JOMIJ, the widely known bard and eisteddfodwr, of his intention (acting on medical ad- vice) to resign the paotorates in three months' tintc. He stated that it was the state of his health which has been very indifferent for some time which had forced him regretfully to take this step. The rev. gentleman underwent an oper- ation some two or three years ago, and his general health has suffered ev-ex since. He felt that his strength was inadequate to meet the pastoral and other demands made upon him, especially during the winter naontlis. The Rev. At the monthly meeting of the Llan- dovery Town Council, held on Monday under the presidency of the Mayer, Mr. I'ryae Rice, a long discussion took place over the lighting of the town. Mr. R. I Thomas, in bringing a motion forward on the subject, said lie had left it an open question in the wording of his resolution so that the Council could decide one way or the other, as he understood that the Gas Company a short time ago we-re expe- riencing a difficulty in getting a supply of coal, and were getting a bit astray through a want of pressure at the present time. He suggested to meet the inconve- nience that the Council should do away with the lamps for the next eix months, and thereby, effect a saving of M to the ratepayers. Mr. W. J. I In view of the great internet which I know is still taken by thousands of people in the personages who were most promi- nent in the great Welsh religions revival of 1904-5, it would be as well to note that Mr. DaJi Roberts, the brother of Mr. Evan Roberts, has decided to go to America. He started from Loughor on Tuesday for Liverpool, and sailed on Wednesday for the United States, where he has many friends and some relatives. It will be rememlwred that when the revival was at its height Mr. Dan Roberts, at the suggestion of his brother, left the colliery and conducted meetings, but, of course, never attained anything like the portion which Mr. Evan Roberts took at the time. Since Mr. Evan Roberts left home Mr. Dan Roberts made several efforts to secure his return to Loughor, but failed.-A-watin.
