Accidents had happened, and on these dark nights it, was most dangerous. ¡ The opinion was expressed that this was a matter for the police, who were gener- ally verv smart in detecting such offences, and the clerk was requested to draw their attention to it. A -further complaint as to the condition of the hedges in the higher lanes w.as also referred to the surveyor'& attention. A special meeting of the Water and Sewers Committee was afterwards held, and the press representatives were re- quested to retire.
