He was m?I?ht before a polIce court to-day and condemned to pay 153 fines of a thousand francs each, in addition to another of 40,000 francs—a total of nearly £ 8,000. The confiscation of his goods and the closing of his establishment were also ordered, and the customers were fined E20 each. Judgment in their case was given by de- fault, and will become enforceable unless the defendants appeal.
