CHART'ERING FOREIGN SH!P§. NEW REGULATIONS AMONG ALLIES. A regulation under the Defence of the Realm Acts is published regulating the char- tering (,f vessels in the trade to or from British pc'"t-). Similar regulations are being i.nade in France and Itily, and the new measure is designed to secure closer co- ordtnancn between the Allies hi tJie employ- ment of tonnage. In future, permission will have to be obtained from a-- national authority in each country before any foreign tonnage is char- tered In the case of the United Kingdom, any person who wishes to obtain permission to charter a foreign ship should send full parti- culars to the Marine Department, Board of Tt-Rde.
