L | 'An inquiry into th £ circurnst'rUK vounding the death of Braiisby John VVii- liams (15), haulier, in the employ of Mr- William Jenkins, and residing with his parents at Tjewyddfu Common, Morriston, was held on Monday afternoon at the Coroner's Court. Mr. Hilditeh (H.M. In- spector of Factories) was .present, and Mr. Edward Harris for the relatives, and Mr. T. C. J. Bull for the employer, also attended. Air. Martin Wutiams (father), a police constable, deposed that on December 23rd his son sustained an accident, telling his father that somehow his clothes got caught in a cbaffcutter. Wm. Jenki,n. 518, Xeath-road, haulier, the employer, said that the boy was em- ployed jointly by himself and his brother, but at the time of the accident was employed by himself. On Saturday, the 23rd ult., witness was chaffcutting, and deceased, of his own accord, helped him; witness caution- ing him not to go near the machine. A minute cr two later he (the employer) heard a shout atid saw the poor lad had got caught in the shafting and was lying on the floor with his clothes badly ripped.
