W 1 The death took place at his residence, Middleton Villas, Britonferry, on Satur- day afternoon, of Mr. William Morris, managing director of the Baglan Bay Tin plate Co., Ltd., after an illness of only three days, at the age of 58 years. De- cease, I was one of the foremost gentlemen hi the tinplate trade in South Wales, and will be missed by a large circle of friends. He came to Britonferry from Carmarthen- shire. to, i-tart as office boy. at the old t 'tWb age of -?3 veirs, Vernon years, aNd at tho age of 20 he was the manager. He then formed the prc-c-ent Bagltn Bay Co., and has been managing director and secretary since its cinception. Be .was also one of the promoters of the Albion Steel Co., Britonferry, and for so-me time a as Chairman' of directors. He was o ne. o; the foulldets of the Tinplate Con- ci-liation -Board,' ahd .foi'mai)'y years acted as honorary eecretayy. The deceased was up to the time of his death on the Execu- tive Committee, and was well known for bis broad views of labour. He was an il old member of the British Iron. and Steel Institute, and alsp the South NYales In- sti,tute of Engineers. 2 Mr. Mortis. W33 a..very prominent Xon- | conformist^ and.. actod as, secretary t') Betheed^- Welsh Congregational 'Cluvrch for about 33 years, and was also a deacon, and acted as chairman of- the quarterly meeting of the denomination. He was president of the local Free Church Coun- cil. a member of the local Tribunal, local secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society and the London Missionary So- ciety. His death will be a great loss to the town and district. He leaves a widow and three sons—Mr. Elwyn Morris, en- j gineer at Pontypridd; Lieutenant Mvr- dd-in Morris, on service in France; and Mr. Brynmor Morris, just home on sick leave from France. He was a brother of Mr. John Morris, the well-knoyn draper, >f Britonferry. The funeral takes place an Thursday.

BRITONFERRY. The funeral of tho late Mr. William T. Collins, of Grove Villas, Britonferry, took place at Ynysmaerdy Cemetery on Sunday afternoon, and was largely attended. A large contingent of the employes of the Great Western Railway, with whom the late gentleman worked fcr many years, were present, and the C-,)- I was eovorni witu inidy beautiful wreaths, etc. Two of the scras of deceased who were in Iranco managed to get leave and were present, but another son who is also in France was unable to get across. He was previous to enlisting engaged at the G.C.G. Colliery Offices. Mr. Dd. Davies (Davish), Gron-road, G»waun-cae-Gurv.-cn, v was seriously in- jured 4 the CwmgoVse Colliery on Sat- tirday. Ho fractured a number of ribs and was badly bruised on the legs.
